paojack got a reaction from Ilio&DF in What to do after NOA2 arrival...
After your petition is approved (NOA2), USCIS forwards your petition to NVC, it ALWAYS goes thru NVC but it usually stays there for a few days and then it goes to ur local embassy. If ur petition has been approved, u can call NVC to get ur case number. Note that it usually takes around 2 weeks (from NOA2) for NVC to be able to give u your case #.
you guys should check your Embassy Info, I can't tell u how it works after NVC since its different for every country.

yeah I said 'help from Google!' not Google translator, duh! They are 2 different things you know??.. The notary is a professional man that works on a well known US bank chain, he was not a friend of mine and I am sure if this was something bad, he would not have signed. I dont really have to give more explanations or tell you how good or bad in english/spanish I am... IMO I dont think that was a bad thing, I honestly know more people that have gone that route and I am sure it will work just fine, that's why I gave that advise... anyways... Good luck everyone!

I never said I use google translator. I translated myself and took it to the notary (a USC who happens to be bilingual), he checked it and he was the one signing the document since it was completely accurate!! Please dont judge if u dont know!

Relax people! I did not use Google translator, I used google only to see some examples and the formats they use. As I said, I got a bilingual Notary (a USC) that checked it out for me and he said the translation was accurate!

Um, you are talking about a spousal visa, not AOS. Totally different thing. You can't compare apples and oranges.

paojack got a reaction from Harpa Timsah in HELP!!! I-485 RFE for 2 year rule from J-1 visa
Your husband should request a letter from the agency(or program) he used to come to the US explaining all the details (date, place, visa, etc) of when he was in the US on his j1, and send that to DoS along with the other required documentation for the advisory opinion. I'm not sure that will help or not but that was one of the things I was told to do by DoS when I was trying to fix my situation.
It is the sole responsibility of the exchange visitor (EV) to retain copies of his/her IAP-66/DS-2019 forms. Therefore, if you cannot find your copy, the Department’s Waiver Review Division (WRD) will accept a signed letter from your program’s responsible program officer (RO), which gives complete information about your program and your participation in it.

A lawyer does not make the process go any faster, they have no influence over USCIS. If your case is pretty simple as it seems to be for what your saying I would advice you to save your money and do it yourself. Good luck!
Edit: Also VJ has A LOT of very helpful information, not to mention all the helpful people here in case you have any doubts. No need to pay anyone else!

And before you pee your pants at the prospect of putting your petition in the mail (or Fedex) for its 6 month oddessy to begin, put the thing away and review the copy of everything you made every day for three days. THEN mail it. Fedex not needed.
I have read 3,762,981 posts that say "I mailed my petition yesterday and I just reviewed my copy and I forgot to ___________________, will I get an RFE?" YES!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly!! How did he come up with R as an answer? What is the R supposed to mean? IT's kinda stupid he has screwed it up twice as the instructions are pretty clear. If I were you I would get rid of him/her and would do it myself, no need for a lawyer when this site is also extremely helpful!

Wrong!! It is NOT legal to work without an EAD or GC. Just because its an online job doesn't make it legal.
Unless you want to do it under the table that's totally up to you, otherwise you need to wait for your EAD.

No, Usually you don't have to bring notarized copies. However you need to bring the ORIGINAL documents and copies for them to keep. The original just in case they want to see if for whatever reason...

For k1 you need I-134 Affidavit of Support. You will use I-864 for the AOS.

    21) Unemployed. Since he is only the beneficiary, being unemployed does not affect at all.
    26) Permanently
    27) Marriage and relocation to USA
    36) NO. Answer is No since nobody EVER BEFORE have filed a petition on his behalf. If somebody else (not you) did file for him before then the answer would be yes.
You can always check the example form here
