My mother in law was denied a tourist visa. They say she applied in Trinadad in the past. She does not recall applying. Is it possible, it could be a mistake Trinadad Embassy does not approve Grenada Citizens. What can we do? She is heart broken.

Our USCIS application was approved with no problem and our file was transferred to NVC. All seemed to be going smoothly, and we had our interview scheduled. We arrived a little early and were a little nervous.
The questions that they asked do not seem to be typical and to be candid appear to be unfair.
For example:
1) Where did I work prior to my current employer (I have worked at the same place for 13 years)
2) If he is related to my Ex-husband
3) Where I went to school prior to my last school
4) They said that they did not belive the marriage was "real" for the following reasons
a) I had no-one there (a mis-statement since I had 2 friends there)
b) We married too soon after my divorce (we planned to marry during the course of my divorce and were engaged for 6 months)
c) We did not wear "traditional" wedding clothing
d) His family members appeared to be the only ones in attendance
5) They looked at a photo of us in a nightclub and indicated that it appeared to be "staged"
I met my husband in December 2009. Since I met him, we have talked every day on the phone. I have been back March 2010, April 2010, June 2010, July 2010, October 2010, December 2010, April 2011 and September/October 2011.
There is an age difference...I am older than he.
Would appreicate any guidance I can get. I am talking to an attorney and will be visiting my congressman today.
Thank you.
Wow, you are scaring me. My situation sounds similar. I am older. We got married one month after my divorce. We have many pictures. I have pictures of me with his family and on holidays. I visited him almost 10 times in 2 years.
I have lots of cards, gifts, plane and travel papers.
But you are making me scared, his interview is next week. They said I did not need to come, but will anyway just because of the age difference and recent divorce.

everything that you have ever sent nvc is now in Kingston at the embassy. They will f/ u with you to give u an interview date or to send them additional info depending on what visa you are petitioning for. But this is a good step!
this is 3rd base if you're playing baseball.
I got this same letter. I call the U.S. Embassy in Barbados, they say they we need to send the paperwork before they schedule the interview. What could this be? I sent them everything. Do they mean the DS-230

My husband's case is with the U.S. Embassy in Barbados. Can I send the copies of everything on the checklist prior to getting the letter telling me what to send. I see their checklist on the embassy webpage.

I got an email saying my file was accepted for expedite and will be sent to the Consulate for further processing.
What does this mean? How long to my interview?

im guessing its exciting huh?
what does it say? what are you applying for?
Wait for the National Visa Center (NVC) to contact you about paying the fees for the DS-230 and I-864. That letter will also inform you what you need to do after paying the fees.

I keep on noticing the date keeps moving. What is going on? I wish my husband can be home for Christmas. This is getting to be painful.
Thanks

Wht is your status? Have you filed for the spouse visa?
You need to apply for correct visa for him to come to US.
I am US citizen and I applied for the spouse visa last month.

To be more clear...Are you asking if you can apply for a visa for your husband to come to the US for medical treatment?
Medical treatment falls under a B-2 which he would have to apply for. If he was denied once before this would prove difficult I think.
Good luck.
I want him to come here so, I can put him on my health insurance. He was denied for a vacation visa.

Can I apply for a travel document for my spouse, who needs to go to the doctor? He does not qualify for a visa because he was denied. They say he could not prove ties to his home country strong enough to warrant issuance of a visa.

What if I quit working and start school before my case is adjudicated. I have 3 strong years of W-3's and around 50k in cash. Will an approval be a problem.

No tabs. No staples. No heavy highlighting. USCIS disassembles everything so it can be scanned, so no matter how pretty you make it, they are going to tear it apart and reassemble it in their order after it is scanned.
Thanks, I already got my receipt number. I mailed it June 16, 2011. I followed your advice.

How should I mail my petition. Should I put everything in a book or leave it loose. Should I mark it with tabs. I printed pictures of before and after since we had not been married 2 years. What else should I include?
Help, Please
in Tourist Visas
