Getting her a k-1 Visa is faster and cheaper than CR-1 Visa.the processes both have merits and demerits.
Most people go for K1 bcos of its quickness and the process which is step by step.the time line is estimated to be 5-6 months.
Having filed for divorce with proper documentation.Your ex shouldnt give u any problem with ur new love

Just as answered above. You need know that Marrying someone below par would require needed financial assistance in one way or the other.
Giving such assistance should be a gesture and not an enforcement.Speak your mind to your woman and let her relate it to her family.Let them understand that it cost to even move her down and that consideration should be for the future and not a one time milking off they are trying to get off you.

I probably thought any of the above mentioned would be a RED FLAG (which i prepared to defend).I hope my country becomes more stable and corrupt free prior to my interview in coming months. Thanks Barron

Forum is an avenue for undiluted information to be shared.I have enjoyed being here from day one.Reading people stories has really geared me positively towards achieving a positive preparation for my K1 Visa
My fiancee officially becomes a us citizen today (9am American Time).I have being reading alot from people and how easy and hard for them to get Visa. Each situation has being different based on countries and information supplied.I will be as open as i can to get a more clearing opinion from the house.I am divulging the information with the hope of getting a more clearifying answer to my doubts
My woman is 10 years older than me and she has kids. She is a christian while i am moslem. She has visited me twice in the last couple of years.i was denied a student visa back in 2008.We have known each other since 2007.I love her so much and no day has passed without us chatting either online or phone for the last one year.I love her and my family loves her as well.I love her kids and they do love me as well.We have never being both Married at all and she has no criminal record of any sort. She is originally from Canada and am a Nigerian
Please candid review with not criticism of my country of origin is needed. We have records of our closeness and ties.I am hoping the good readers (though bad critics is allowed) in the house will reply to this. She would be filing next week, cos we have being waiting for her papers and she gets it today.
Please highlight essentially where you think the red flag would be (am an optimist, but listen to pessimist).
I know one mans food can be another's poison.what works for me might not work for you and this has always being my Guild

My fiancee had an interview today at the US Embassy in Cairo visa denied due to our age difference....Did anybody have the same problems because of age difference they have to deny his visa? They told him to marry a woman in Egypt. Why do they have to question him like this. This is not the interviewer business to ask him just because of our age difference. What is the next step I could do if his visa is denied? He answered everything right, paperwork is all correct but WHY the interviewer do this to him.
Dont give up hope.Try to call the embassy and seeks more reasons.though you aint telling us the age Margin.is it up to 20yrs.Stay optimistic and you will smile at the long run

Sometimes, meeting a bad CO could make the whole process terrible.i am sure ur fiancee was successful with her interview, but still the CO doubts her earlier intention
All u need do is call the embassy and speak to them and ask what and how long it will, show anger and fustration that it toiling on u.let them know they are holdin back ur love and u desire an approval in earnest.
I have seen this work after blue paper.be optimistic and u will b answered sooner than later
-
we gladly wld be waiting,to how read successful ur interview goes 2morrrow
keep us updated
-
I will advice u call the Us embassy in Nigeria, they are prompt to pick calls from USC In US.
Continue sending the email and send it to appropriate address.contant NVC again on this situation and forward the corresponding email to the embassy.
Nigeria has a high number of visa applicants all day,so pestering the embassy wld be the only way to know if u r on their Agenda.
Best of Luck

I would get a new police certificate, my husband's interview is also in June and we got his certificate in February, but he will be applying for a new one for the interview. I would advice you to be cautious, you wouldnt want them to give you grief over the police certificate.
Like its said. The Police certificate is Valid for three months and i dont think such can be used again its expired.Logically,he wld needing to show his status is still clean.
The cost of acquiring one is btw 2k - 5k and obtainable in a hours depending on bargaining power.
Save the embarrasement by going for another just weeks b4 the interview

Lagos is such a high fraud consulate that anything could be used against you. I'm sorry but there is no way to answer your question. Maybe the age difference will matter, maybe not. Maybe the religions will matter, maybe not
I've seen Lagos denials over extremely minor things. I've also seen lots of approvals.
tough to tell. Be as prepared as possible with as much evidence of your relationship as you can. And perhaps stop calling her your 'woman' and maybe pick a more romantic term.
good luck
Smiles thanks for the words "and perhaps stop calling her your 'woman' "
She completes me i do call her Angel

Thanks VJ.even though we havent filed yet,i am learning day by day from others experience. My woman becomes a citizen (usc) in 2 weeks time and intends to file a week after. She has visited me twice in the last 6months and we got engaged on d 1st visit,my family loved her
She will be 39 next month and i am 29 already.is the Gap btw our ages wide or could be it be termed in RED FLAG
She is a Christian and i am a Moslem (we both respect our religions)
She has kids and has never being Married b4 but i do not have Kids and never Married B4
We have Pictures/Videos,constant contact details, of our relationship for the past 3 yrs
I need Candid Answers to our chances, even though i am optimistic, what r the chances at the Lagos Embassy. Please Analyse, with no Sentiments as it wont debar my intention and my chances. Thanks while i hope some others fall into this category

Did you pay bride price ?
I didnt Pay Bride Price. She came all alone and we got engaged bcos i loved her more after seeing one another the first time
-
Wandering why cant you come to Nigeria, when you him .Have you both talked about the cost,he can support u if need be financially
-
In Nigeria - does what you did (the engagement, traditional clothes) = "marriage, just without the license"? (or something similar).
Nigeria has a tough embassy - and if they look on this as a "marriage" then you could have an issue.
Nope,it is not regarded.what is regarded is the introduction of the two families.Engagement though brings attention/awareness btw family, but this wasnt in anyway documented, except for me giving her a ring.Going to the Registry is highly counted in Nigeria as a proper marriage (cos its documented legally).
The traditional clothes we wore was basically bcos i wanted her to look AFRICAN
-
Where did you get engaged? What nationality are you or your fiance? We need to know this in order to give you correct consulate specific answers.
This should stay in the Vietnam subforum if the question is Vietnam specific because an engagement ceremony is pretty much required for a K1 visa
I am from Nigeria. She was born in canada, but lived most her life in the states.she will b a citizen come May.there was a family party and we got engaged in front of my family. It wasnt an intended Party for us,but bcos i had all my family members around,so i took up the chance to let them know my intent
-
When my woman visited me back in November,we both got engaged in front of my family,The party wasnt meant for us,but we wore traditional clothes that i made for her.
Is it wrong to get engaged and file for I-129F form.Could our getting engaged be against it,even though we are not married.
We are yet to file until, until she gets her certificate come May.i need an urgent response in regard this, before we fill the form and submit the application come May ending
-
Congrats..how long did it take you.I am yet to start mine until my fiancee takes up her citizenship come Mid May
-
Thanks for the wonderful tips and advice.she would be officially be a US citizen by MID MAY.we have met twice within the space of 6months in the last couple of years.
we met online in 09/2007 and never stopped communicating both online and on fone.I am excited about this site ,even though i havent started the process yet.i feel it would be a GREAT guidance for me her to have a successful application
-
My fiancee has visited me twice in Nigeria and we so much in love with one another.we are yet to start the migration process basically bcos she is yet to obtain her citizenship status (she is originally from canada) and her oath swearing comes in May
Can we forge ahead with my migration process, since she would become American come Mid May.she had intended to start on May 1st.how long does the whole process take most especially from the home office in the states.
How long does the process take here in Nigeria
Are their cases of failed attempt at the USCIS office in the states and what are the reasons
Are their cases of failed interviews at the embassy here in Nigeria as well and what are the reasons
Is there some sort of documents that is required for successful application
Does it need to show financial capability with the application
Whats is the duration for the application process
I will be Glad to read an intensive answer to my questions as this would help us prepare adequately for my migration
Reschedule Interview?

So why would u think ur man would be lying about such.it can happen and should ve bn emailed to him if he had bn corresponding with them via email prior his appointment.
The Nigerian Govt has left its citizen at the mercy of foreigners and the US n its security personnels is the master of it.
You can go to the embassy to make enqury,u will b directed to the site and their no roaming at the embassy.
What u can do is call the embassy and vent your anger, cos few Nigerians wld do that to avoid set backs.
Dont worry, what matters is a positive result n i hope its pretty soon
