Yeah I understand you Jabl2rom, and in a way you're correct. However, please recall that not everyone will receive their NOA2 in the same rough time-period that others with approximately equal NOA1 dates will. Said another way, just because other August filers are receiving their NOA2s now and more are to come, doesn't mean that they'll receive theirs. There are still June filers who are waiting, for example. So it actually is possible that it might be an additional 5 months for a given filer, depending on their circumstances. And that is why some of us fight. I know in my case that the possibility of my petition requiring longer to adjudicate than other September filers is a large part of what has me motivated to do everything I'm doing, for example. And I have a reason to fear this possibility with a divorce (I mean will they REALLY need to read ALL 17 PAGES of my decree???) and previous filings. Please remember that some filers will take longer than others who filed at approximately the same time and that is a disturbing reality. Finally, whatever your reasons are to be frustrated, we support you too, hope you and you're fiance are holding up ok.
    Anyway, just a thought....
I think you missed the point that you tried so diligently to make yourself: someone telling you to be patient IS someone telling you what to do. Therefore if your position of advocacy is that folk shouldn't tell other folk what to do - which you made clear in your two posts - then you must support the notion of not telling someone to be patient too. Else you go the way of hypocrisy. And in the end I think that is what a lot of us who rebel against such rah-rah stuff are attempting to convey: "don't tell me what to do and don't tell me how to feel." You can't have your cake and eat it too Shauneg.
    I'm just sayin.....
So many flaws with that logic and argument. Eh, I won't even delve into it all. Let's just agree to disagree. You can choose to click on the sign out button up top too.

Thank you for understanding. We still make calls, we check with USCIS and our Congressman. We've signed petitions, complained to the OIG, and recently listened to the USCIS conference call. It's not as if we aren't trying to move our case forward. Yet we keep seeing others who haven't waited as long either getting approved or telling us some cheerleader story. It gets old.
Like all of the other couples here, we just want to get through this process and be together. When we started, the approval time was 4-5 months. Now we're nearly 7 months with nothing from USCIS. We've heard people "it's coming soon now!" for months. To be honest, we'd rather not hear such platitudes from people who have no inside information.
We'll get our notice when we get it.

Eh back off of wbeem Jabl2rom, I understand what he/she is saying. I too am tired of pep talks from others who haven't waited as long. That said, it's not the wait that is the determining factor many times. What you, KatieKay and others who spout off such tribe fail to remember is that patience isn't always the sole factor at work in a particular couple's situation. Hell, if it was just a matter of patience and waiting it out, I'd have no trouble at all, for example. And really I'm still doing fine, no crumbling cookies here. However in my case there's a pregnancy involved and that complicates things, for reasons I won't go into. When you couple such external factors with the unfair processing time differential with the CSC, it's little wonder that some of us are on edge. So cut wbeem a little slack and take your own advice: be patient with such people KatieKay and Jabl2rom! Or does your patience only extend so far and apply to certain things? LOL
Look, sarcasm aside, what I'm saying is to be more sympathetic and possibly somewhat empathetic to everyone, including wbeem. Not everyone has your same situation; there very well may be external factors at work and not everyone handles such situations as perfectly as you two seem to be capable of. Some folk just get tired of the rah-rah BS after a while, that's all. So have patience and tolerance of such folk.
    I'm just sayin'....

Every time someone says they got an approval, I have this giant hope and immediately check my status to only be disappointed. Having hope and being shut down on a daily basis is emotionally draining :/
Congrats to all the people who are approved though!

Actually, with the state of NY they were at TSC. As the beneficiary is Filipino (though living in Thailand), the case was auto-expededited. I read about that before - shows how screwed up the process is that Filipinos not living in the Philippines get expedited.
Anyway, OP: The Bangkok embassy should contact yout fiance for the next steps, check your local forum.

That would bring us up to almost 8 months since filing date... I feel worse now.
The first few months aren't so bad.. but once you hit 5 months every day hurts... when you watch CSC filers getting approved in as little as 10 days then it doesn't matter how objective you try to be... it is extremely difficult. We all try to stay positive because this is our life, our future happiness on the line .
It has been unnecessarily drawn out, obviously, because CSC has proved that and there needs to be an overhaul to prevent that disparity.
I'm happy for you that you are comfortable with the time frames, but accept the fact that we aren't all so 'chirpy' right now.
That being said, for late July/early August filers, I'm wishing you the best and hope that 'now' is our time. We have been through this together for a long time now and I appreciate the support I have received through these months. I think we have all had our down times, and since our circumstances are all different we identify with some more than others ... we are nearly there.. best wishes to you all.

Thanks. But we said that last month. And they are still busy with July. I see you are a recent filer. I hope TSC speeds up before you get through this dreadful process. There is nothing anyone can say you to even partly prepare you for the frustration, agony and expense of this indescribably cruel and painful, inefficient system. Good luck with your journey.

You need to act now or you'll end in trouble. You have no time for playing it cool, you're being taken advantage of big time. More you drag it out by hesitating to act, worse you'll end up.

OLee you took the words right out my mouth. I am sorry but this I do not believe is any brother. The brother just Magically shows up. Where was he before she came. She just tells you when she has Visa in hand of a horrific rape. What the Visa made it less painful to tell. Not making light of it. But I just don't buy all this.
Please OP protect yourself. You do not have to file nada. You hear me. As long as you don't file after 90 days she is out of status. Married to you yes. But you can always get marriage annulled and walk away if that's what you want to do. Just be very very careful. Protect your assets. I wouldn't have her on any accounts with any monies. And do not allow yourself to be threatened in your own home. Hell nah. Brother don't know who he missin with.
Get your restraining order. Wifey don't like it there are homeless shelters better than alot of peoples homes in many cities (I live in Houston I know). Sorry I am getting madder as I write. Let me stop. Just be careful. And have your own friends with you at all times also.
Really sorry you have to go through this.

I have to act very carefully. She could make false claims against me.
I wanted report the brother to ICE, but I heard they take a long time if they even look into it.
I guess filing restraining order in court is best.
I don't care if he was mad at the moment, but threatening the person that feeds you is uncalled for.
I thought about kicking him out and working it out with her but I don't think it will work. Now it is damage control (someone above said it).

Are you sure he is even her brother? Maybe he is a father of a child? Or maybe she wasn't raped ever? Maybe she kidnapped her child without the knowledge of the father? Sorry, I am just thinking out loud. I am sorry about your situation and I agree with others - try to get your marriage annulled and take all steps to protect yourself. Good luck to you.

    Thanks Jose&Eli,
I HAVE NOT DONE AN AOS. If things don't go well for us she will probably self petition through WAVA.
Well if I get the courts involved against him, then she might leave. Which is something I have to accept. I tried to make it work, but one thing is being a nice guy and the other is being a fool.
I guess I am very confused now.

This has been one of the most frustrating things I have ever done. The lack of information is just infuriating.
I hope this is the beginning of a lot more approvals. It has been too long and I hope that soon we can all be in the next phase of this process.

Sorry to hear that Maria but I understand and have been in similar status recently. It is a little less stressful being less involved and checking constantly. Definitely a broken system and a cruel one at that.
How anyone working in this department cannot acknowledge and change the system in view of the overwhelming disparity between the two centers and total neglect and respect for those of us on the losing end I fail to understand.
I too hope that we all get some good news very soon.... best wishes to you both.
