  1. thank you so much. I can't wait to celebrate with VISA in hand. I just realize the more the time is getting closer the more I am missing him so much ( my love). Does anyone feel the same way? Our case still says "in Transit".

Yes, I feel the same way. I think I've had to freeze my emotions for quite a while now just to get through and once we got Noa2 it became much more difficult, each step seems to take so long, but really its all pretty quick now. I'm watching the tracker get the papers to the embassy today. It sure is a journey.

You'll be together soon... so exciting.

  2. Our pack has had to wait over the long Easter weekend and due for delivery this morning at the embassy. I've never tracked anything with DHL...wow what a system! I checked on the medical a couple of weeks ago and they wont do it without the details from the embassy, but they can do it either same day or the next so that's no problem. So now waiting for the arrival of Pkt 3... I can't believe we are finally at this point.

All the best to everyone for the coming few weeks... lots going on out there. :D

  3. Same thing here...ours left on March 31, arrived in one city in Bolivia on Thursday, departed that city for the destination city, but didn't quite make it before the holiday on Friday...but I think the consulate/embassy is open on Monday, hard to tell when the Embassy page shows a 2014 holiday calendar which only shows good Friday as a holiday, not the following Monday.

How thoughtful of them..haha. I think the biggest relief for me is that I know where it is.. at last, and it hasn't disappeared in a pile of paper in Texas or Boston. I'm not totally sure how our process works as I've read different things but I called about the medical a couple of weeks ago and they wont do it until I have the instructions from Packet 3.

    I guess for once you're almost hoping Monday isn't a holiday !

  4. That may explain why some stay longer at NVC than others. I looked at the link you posted and the different process may be part of the reason. Or, this could all mean nothing. Who knows.

That second confirms what I suspected. London has the petition shipped out. No interview date is in the pipeline there until the petition is received, packet 3 is sent out, forms completed, medical completed and results forwarded to the embassy. So I'm assuming this is not the case for consulates which operate on this basis.

I'm pretty sure ours is the same.. I'd always understood that was the case and it only takes a couple of weeks to get an interview at the most. So wondering why it is still sitting at NVC?

  5. Not sure....when I called the women I spoke to said that it doesn't stay long at the NVC, but it could take up to 30 days for it to leave. I read on another thread the possible reasons for it being stuck there, one of them was waiting for consulate to have an open interview date, I think its in this thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/436021-stuck-nvc-for-ap-part-ii/

It took 18 days for TSC to send ours to NVC and now at NVC for 14 days.

I know about the batching too, but I've checked on DHL and they seem to be sending a package two or three times a week, but I would expect that to cover other visa types with our small population. Just read Darnell's thread and that reconfirms that we are really just in another queue so we are stuck again. Thanks for that link, the term AP always scares me a bit but that just clarifies that it is just more 'normal processing'.

For all of us, I hope they speed up, this is painful.

  6. Trust me I know how you feel!! Mine was at NVC for 3 weeks. Now it is in Ghana and we still don't have an interview date. It will be 3 weeks there Thursday. They mailed out his packets almost 2 weeks ago. But most of the time you don't get them. So I have requested several times for an email-call letter so he can go pick up his packets with the interview date! I never thought this would take close to a year!!! by the time our interview comes we will be close to a year with this entire process. A little frustrated with all the waiting!!

I agree after waiting for TSC all that time you hope to pick up some speed at this point. I hope you dont have to wait any longer for your interview date (F)

  7. A couple factors and a bit of luck influence how quickly a file leaves NVC for the consulate. If the beneficiary's consulate receives frequent K1 applications the files are batched and forwarded about every two weeks, otherwise they are sent individually as they become ready. Your wait will be impacted depending when in that two week cycle your case receives a number.

Also keep in mind, not all consulates receive files via DHL (2 day shipping) some are simply mailed (ours took a week to arrive).

As an example, our file took 6 weeks from NOA2 to arriving at the consulate - many others were quicker.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you for that... not panicking so much...

and... GOOD LUCK for the interview !!!

  8. It can take anywhere from 10-14 days to get to NVC. Once they receive it you will have your case number in a day or two. I found the best time to call is around 7:00 am EST...or about 10:00 pm EST.

    Good luck

Ours took two and half weeks to get to NVC from NOA2 and has now been sitting there for 2 weeks. I thought this was going to be the quick part and don't understand what takes so long at NVC if some can be out in a couple of days.

  9. I'm really happy for all of you August that are approved. I am NOA - 8/21/14, and my depression is really starting to set in =/ I called today and the tier 1 wouldn't transfer me to a tier 2. I have a very mild predicament I don't talk loud or rude to anyone and this lady was just going off on me. "Sir we can not comment, sir I can't transfer you." It's not so much what she said as much as what was in her tone, the lady felt like she hated me. I feel humiliated and helpless. =[

I think I would just keep calling and again ask to speak to a Tier 2 person and emphasise the length of time you have been waiting.... you are at around 7 months which is not unusual for July/August NOA1's.. you may be close to hearing something anyway, but I would still try to call. It does sometimes take a bit more to get someone to listen to you. Best of luck.

(Also your Profile says India and your timeline says Japan... where is your beneficiary from?)

  10. Please tell me we aren't going to have the extreme randomness we experienced with approvals.

I think it might be only slightly random if that's any help.. just trying to check if I'm on the right track and also noticed that there are one or two after that are still waiting so perhaps the 'out of order' person is on a different type of visa anyway. (I can probably live with that)

  11. I tried the tracking method. We are 001 on a Monday, so I'm assuming the next one before us was the Friday prior. There was only one and it has been sent to the embassy. Being a small country though there aren't enough to give much of a pattern but at least that shows us we're next.. we don't know how long that will be exactly but I guess it's soon.

oops no.. I may be wrong about that. Someone the day after us, Tuesday, has moved on to the embassy... does this just depend which desk you are on or the type of visa and what appointments are available?

  12. Mine seems to be stuck at NVC...I've read about some possible reasons, one was that they are waiting for the embassy to have an open appointment date before they send it.....but I'm not liking it being there this long.

I'm not the only one though, if you play with the case # you can view other peoples case statuses on CEAC, quite a few are at the NVC that are going to the same embassy, but it could be for different reasons, like different a different type of visa that require a priority date, etc.because I tracked some as far back as November 2014..there is no way to tell which type of visas applications they are.

  13. If anyone else is interested in seeing other case statuses here is how:

I found this information in another post.

    Case#: CCCyyyydddqqq

    CCC = city code

    yyyy = year i.e. 2015

ddd = day of the year in which case was received by NVC + 500

qqq = order of application received that day. (001 first appliation, 002 second application, etc)

Example: NVC received your application on Jan 25, 2015 and your city is Montreal(MTL - not sure if this is the actual code for Montreal)

Thank you.. yes I will be doing this.. at this stage, every distraction helps :)
