  1. Isn't it a great feeling to be on this side of the process! lol. It will go much faster now.

This is what they do at NVC. Once they receive your case they will assign a case number normally in one or two days. Give them at least a week from when it left USCIS then start calling them. Once you have that case number you can go to https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx put in immigrant visa.....type in your case number. You can monitor when your case leaves NVC. It can take maybe 5-15 days. Once you get your case number and you go to CEAC to check your status it will say "AT NVC" the next step it will say "In Transit" meaning they have sent it to the embassy. "Ready" means it's arrived at the Embassy.

NVC has had my case since Feb 17th. It's still there, but should go out this week I hope.

When you call and you get that message.....all current reps are busy with other customers...hang up and redial...keep doing that until you get through. You have to stay on hold because there is no call back at NVC. I am not sure if the beneficiary can get information or not, but you can call and see what they tell you.

Yes.. sounding good ... its been four or five days now.. and I still can't get the grin off my face... This part definitely sounds a lot easier. lol.... I remember reading up on it in the past but our journey has been so long I have to recheck everything. So now we aren't lost in space and get some control back.. this is such a relief.

... and it looks like its my turn and I can do some checking soon... Thank you all for your help and hints. I hope things move quickly for everyone from here. (F)

  2. Yes just call them in about a week or so and see if your case has been received. It took mine two weeks. You may have to call and call to get through. You may have a little wait once you get through. But you will get your answer. It's not like USCIS. lol

Thank you LoveinGhana.... I have to get my head around a whole new set of rules now. I guess they wont talk to the beneficiary so I'll have to get my fiance to call and he works long hours so is always time poor. Do we need to contact them or do things take their course anyway? Do they just give it a number and forward it to the embassy or do we need to be involved in order to track our case. I would prefer to know where it is but just trying to be practical because I know he doesn't get time to sit on a call for 30 - 45 mins (or more) waiting. If I am allowed to call that would be ok

  3. Congratulations....you've reached the other side lol :D

To all those still waiting, hang in there. I'm sure we'll hear something within the next two weeks. Hopefully next week, but two weeks at the latest....Come on TSC, let's go.

Thank you yes... we finally got over that wall... I am still shaking my head in disbelief... after our incredibly long journey (see signature) it is priceless !

  4. I dont doubt your commitment to this at all and sounds like you are having a tough time.. we have just now been approved in the last 24 hours. This is our third attempt and we have had responses of lost files.. that they never received anything.. Essentially we have been kept apart for four years through this lack of continuity and fairness.

I'm not trying to compete with your situation and in fact I really do commend you on all your efforts.. You must be exhausted by now. I know that the Congressmen and Senators don't seem to be doing a lot these days to help. I just think that you have to keep calling and I am really hoping that your conversation today causes them to take a serious look at your situation. You should have heard by now at the very least. They are moving on and if they don't take a serious look after your call today ... I would give them a few days.. but after that I would be calling every day.

I have been harping on about the CSC/TSC difference for the past year. I have started to see a difference in the last few weeks and there seems to be some sort of 'catch up' and all I can suggest now is that wait a few days and then you call .. every day. I really wish you the best.

  5. My day is July 16 and Im still waiting???

I am also July 16 with no answer

Have either of you contacted them at all? While they have moved on to August I think it is a good time for you to call them and ask to speak to a Tier 2 person. I know that they are not helpful lately but you need to just give them a bump. You should have had something by now and that needs to be brought to their attention.

  6. We filed in July and we are still waiting. I was on hold for over an hour the other day to connect to a Tier 2 person and they looked at my application and asked me a bunch of questions I had filled out on the I-129F to make sure they were talking to me...well anyway, the assured me that I would have word before the end of the month. And so I wait. Only 8 days left in the month.

I think they are moving pretty fast right now. It has been such a long haul and I guess the only way to look at it is that it is down to a few days now.

I wish you guys all the best for a speedy NOA2 !

  7. I filed early September. Trust me, 90% of the August filers on this board will have their NOA2 by March 17

That would bring us up to almost 8 months since filing date... I feel worse now.

The first few months aren't so bad.. but once you hit 5 months every day hurts... when you watch CSC filers getting approved in as little as 10 days then it doesn't matter how objective you try to be... it is extremely difficult. We all try to stay positive because this is our life, our future happiness on the line .

It has been unnecessarily drawn out, obviously, because CSC has proved that and there needs to be an overhaul to prevent that disparity.

I'm happy for you that you are comfortable with the time frames, but accept the fact that we aren't all so 'chirpy' right now.

That being said, for late July/early August filers, I'm wishing you the best and hope that 'now' is our time. We have been through this together for a long time now and I appreciate the support I have received through these months. I think we have all had our down times, and since our circumstances are all different we identify with some more than others ... we are nearly there.. best wishes to you all.

  8. Yesterday really was our day! My fiance called me on Skype at around 3:15 am this morning, and told me that he'd just received the text saying our petition has been approved. I'm sure I don't have to tell you guys how happy and relieved we both are. :D

Great news ! ... they seem to be seriously moving again after all. I can't even imagine how good that is but now you can make actual plans and know that you have some control back over your own lives. :)

p.s. dont forget the timeline. (makes me feel like we're moving on up when I see them on Igor's List)
