Good Life got a reaction from jenkatx in AOS Approved!
I went to check the status of our AOS on USCIS website and what do you know? There was statement that a production of the card was ordered on January 17, 2013. No text or e mail even though we signed for it...but that doesn't matter anymore. It's been a long journey and I am gald everything worked out great. This has been a very good site for resources for any immigration concerns and thank you all my VJ friends for your support. For those still waiting, fear not yours will come very soon. You all stay blessed because God has been good to us

Good Life got a reaction from Boiler in Husband denied, pending USCIS decision
Here is my take; most Nigerian culutre especially Yoruba does not usually have the male be younger than the female, particularly when it is 12years younger. The other thing is that most Nigerian cultures always expect a marriage to produce children and also his age especially if he is young may have played a negative role in the decision making. I am not saying your relationship is not real, but just from the CO's perspective

I am sorry to hear about the denial. However, the story he gave about the picture that he thought it was for single is nothing but total BS. It does not matter that he did not file for the DV. If she got his picture, she would have filed as husband not as boyfriend because there is no provision for that. Dis he know the outcome of the DV application? What happened to that so called "Ex-girfriend"? How did you guys meet? And what the hell is certiificate of bachelorhood in Nigeria? (That's a new one!) Why would he need to get one? Listen my sister this man has not told you the whole story. The US embassy in Lagos assumed from the get go that all Nigerians are crooked untill proven straight, it's sad, but that is the reality. This is one big mess and I do not know how he can get himself out of it. I have always advised my sisters on this forum to please vet these men thouroughly before making a lifetime committment. You need to ask him a lot of questions, because I don't want you to get hurt in the process. This could be a blessing in disguise for you. Wishing the very best in your journey of love and life.

Good Life got a reaction from jenkatx in NIGERIAN PASSPORTS
My advise will be to inquire with the passport office in Nigeria if they will issue him another one and attached the old to the new one BUT UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES NUST HE LEAVE THE OLD PASSPORT WITH THE VISA ON IT WITH THEM...In Nigeria they can try anything even though the visa will not be useful to them and will likely mess you up and cause unnecessary delay for him.

Good Life reacted to lanky1980 in N400 mistake reagdring voter registration
First of all thanks to those that host this forum. I have long been a guest on here but after my N-400 interview yesterday i am in need of some advice.
On my N-400 application i had stated that i had never registered to vote, nor had i ever voted. I believed this to be true as i have no recollection of ever do so.
At the beginning of the interview the IO asked why i was registered to vote in my County. I told him i was unaware that i was. He conducted the interview and issued me with an N-14 and asked me to go to the County Clerks office to see what i could find.
The N-14 asks you to return to the IO a voter registration form, proof of removal from the voter register, and your voting record.
I went to the courthouse and they produced a voter registration form that i had signed in March 2006 at the DMV. It clearly states that it is for US Citizens only. I was shocked that i had been so stupid as to sign this, and also that i had no recall of doing it.
However, i got a copy of this, a copy of the form stating i was no longer on the voting register and a copy of my voting record that showed i have never voted.
I drafted a letter to the IO explaining all this and my regret at this huge mistake i had made.
Other than this i am a LPR from the UK married to a USC, been an LPR since 2003, have a 20 month old child and another on the way, always employed, always paid taxes, clean record, not even a parking ticket.
My question is this: Should i return the forms along with my letter of regret and hope for the best? I also have a sworn notarized statement saying i signed this form in error and with full regret.
Do i need to Lawyer up at this point? I realize that by signing the form i could be deported.
Or could i withdraw my application and reapply with all this information attached?
Many thanks in advance for any advice given

Since he is your son, you should have registered his birth at the Consulate in Phillipines so he could be issued US passport and no need for the K2 visa.
