i read some of the frontpage threads in other regions...and honestly i don't know why people are so happy about receiving the NOA2, that should be a piece of cake and the easiest part right? i never thought for a second my case wouldn't make it to vietnam.
you don't have to check USCIS every day. just sign up for text or email notification, wait about 5 months and it'll come. save the "checking every day" for NOA3 and interview date.

since they are living in different locations right now i would suggest marriage asap...for crea's sake.

completely different circumstances. i don't have to take an afternoon off, drive somewhere, spend money to park, get searched, and wait for my appointment to give said freebie advices. plus by having VJ i've saved probably over 1k by not having to hire people that probably won't be as thorough, so this forum is the opposite of trivial.

tell her to do what many other viet women do when going for a green card...pay the 30-40k to someone else because you're not a sucker and she's not getting a free ride here.

i agree with this. would not be surprised if she pulls some stunt after she's over here to get her a green card/permanent resident and away from you asap.

it's not the norm anywhere to be a paid gf...especially in vietnam (and i know we all "pay" in some way).
second i would not proceed further until she can be 100% honest. if she's being deceptive and secretive now that would only lead to more problems and mistrust in the future.

why are you worrying about marriage in vietnam if she's going on a k-1 interview? you don't have faith that she's going to pass the k-1 process?

a 3mos vn trip after just 8 months in the usa is not very healthy for the adjustment. i know of vietnamese relatives who were sponsored by their dads. we live in orange county ca, little saigon...we're basically vietnam-west, and they were still homesick and wanted to go back after the first few months. that's just human nature...i can only imagine how much more difficult it is for a vietnamese woman to be in a strange town with strange people and feeling disconnected from the world. wishing you guys the best
