  1. Just though I would let you know that I arrived in S.C via Newark on 19th November.

POE Newark was pretty quick (20mins if that) POE officers were firm but polite. I was supposed to have 6 hour wait for my next flight to SC but Continetal managed to squeeze us on the earlier flight which saved us 4 hours

I'm so happy to finally be here with Steven and my son is settling down quite quickly too. He's not yet in school as we are in the process of buying a brand new house (5 beds) I'm sooo pleased!!

Anyway just a quick updatex

  2. I would really try to change your commitments as they really don't seem to be responding to e-mails very quickly at the moment even with RHL numbers given by the Scottish Helpline.

Give it a try failing that you could call the switchboard number - listen to all the boring stuff then you will get through to an operator - explain the situation to her and she may just give you a fax number you could use.

    44 (0)20 7499-9000

Hope they sort it out for you

  3. I actually find your description of the whole medical a bit misleading really. The majority of people who have had their medicals at the Knightsbridge Doctors were treated well.

The easiest way to find them...get off at Knightsbridge on the Piccadilly line. Use the exit marked "Harrods". Follow the little side street it exits onto (not the main road) and then turn first left. The doctors is just on the right hand side of the street. It is not even a five minute walk from the tube.

The medical I had was quick, efficent and handled very well. Staff were funny (especially the X-ray fella) and courteous and I have NO complaints. Any questions I had they answered well. My son has ADHD and I had to answer questions about him. These were handled well by my examining doctor. From start to finish it was around 45 minutes and they were pretty busy.

If you are not happy with your medical fair enough, but in the majority of cases these doctors are pretty good IMO.

Yep I found the x ray man funny too AND the doctor was very child friendly too. I went to Basil Mansions

I did find a mistake on my vaccination records - copied my the medical secretary, however, once I advised them they sorted it out and sent it to me the next morning.

  4. I would definately all the DOS the number is as above

    Then

    press 1

    press 1

    press 0

    Then wait a little while

They seem to have the most up to date info

Forget Scotland when I last called them they advised as the interview had already taken place they would not have any additional information.

    Also

When it's an administration issue when you e-mail the londonconsular address they don's seem to respond.

In the 28 days of waiting I sent 5 e-mails no response

    DOS were always very helpful

    Good Luck

This evening I received a text message from SMS advising that I have a delivery in the morning.

  8. wow, I reeally hope they dont need to do one!

After all this waiting, i guess everyone assumes that as soon as the interview is here your done and thats it!

    Thanks guys x

It's fair not to assume anything unitl you have your passport/visa in your hand.

I went to my intervew 3 weeks ago thinking that everything would be ok and we just needed to be finally approved. I was advised at that point that FBI Name check needed to be completed. I was also advised that this process would take one week. Now 3 weeks later I wait............

You poor thing. oh no now I am even more worried!

Good luck! Hope you get it very soon. Was there any reason to expect you may have needed an FBI check? Aything like many visits to the US? did they give a reason at all?

No reason at all - just one of those things i'm afraid.

  10. The FBI name check can be done at K1 stage prior to issuing the visa or at AOS stage, it's the luck of the draw - if you can call it that.

The results from the FBI name check can be avalible in one week to a couple of years and the people that are waiting for their visa to be issued must just sit and wait, nothing can be done to speed it along.
