Email the consulate and ask them. Also, check with the doctor as to where they will be sending your medical results. Mine where sent to me to send with my packet three.
-
Personally, I would just wait to send packet three until I had the medical results as if they do schedule you an interview, you might not have the results in time and will have to reschedule anyway.

I was in a similar situation when we got our NOA 2 too. I had moved while we were waiting so when we got the case number from NVC I just emailed the consulate to tell them my address had changed. They emailed the packet three to both me and my fiance. I always found the Sydney consulate to be super helpful, I had to email them a few times through the process. Always helpful although sometimes a little slow replying to emails.

Sydney is the only place that does interviews in Australia.
And about co sponsors, I used my mother in law as a co sponsor and it wasn't an issue at all.
-
I just went to the local police station, gave them my filled out form, did finger prints and then I believe it took about a month to get the check back in the mail.

Thank you Thank you Thank you!! For putting my mind at ease, lol. I"m up for promotion at the moment and would hate to be moving up in the company only for my Green card to expire and not be able to work. Glad that's not gonna happen

I don't apply for ROC until December of this year but I have something that i'm quite worried about......
I have heard that it is taking 6+ months for ROC to get approved so am wondering, will I still be allowed to work at my current job after my Green card expires and I'm waiting for a new one? I would hate to lose my job all because USCIS is so freaking slow :/

Ha! I totally didn't even read the packet three bit in your original post....my apologies

Here's the info
$340 filing fee. Best of luck to you both!! I hope it's a speedy process for you guys.

I booked my medical before I got NOA 2 and they were happy to do my medical without a case number. I however got my noa 2 a couple weeks before my medical so had a case number in the end. I had mine done in Melbourne. I would always call and ask though because some will do it and some won't.

It's a copy of your vaccination checklist. If the doctor never gave you one then just ask them when you have your interview because it will be in the sealed package. This is important because you will need it during AOS.

The only negative is that you need to file tax on worldwide income for life as a USC. So on moving back you'll need to file taxes for the US every year (which you could do via turbotax AND you would need to look into the foreign income exemption). Your husband will have to do that anyway but it's something you should be aware of.
Really??? Wow, I did not know that, that's such #######. I wish the American tax system was more like Oz....so much less hassle.

Just dropping by to say hi, been neglecting this place lately! Glad to see that everyone seems to doing well
Hubby and I are great, we've had a few rough patches...mostly over me missing home..but we're all good now. Moving back to Arizona in a couple of weeks and than, in a couple of years, hopefully we'll be back in Australia
Just need to save money and get a visa sorted out for Travis. Can't wait, I've been craving some good Aussie food something shocking lately, lol.
-
this is the reason we're thinking about moving back to australia.
We're thinking of moving back to Oz too! If we do we'll be applying for hubby's visa mid next year when we've saved some money

I did K-1 buttttt...I took new photos with me for the interview but when I got there they asked if I wanted to use the new ones or the ones that I submitted with my medical. I think the issue is that they need to be within 6 months old or as recent as possible. I had my medical only a month before my interview so maybe they were recent enough.
....oh and good luck with your interview!!!

Here is the linkn for the form he will need to dis-enroll. This is what I did. If you ever move back all he has to do is enroll again. http://www.aec.gov.au/Enrolling_to_vote/pdf/forms/overseas/ER022Nw_0212.pdf

As far as I know (and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) once you fill in the I-864 and it is approved that takes over in place of the I-134.

I sent in the sealed envelope with my packet 3 and didn't take the X-ray to my interview. I bought it to the US with me but, thus far, have never been asked for it.

My Aunt came with me to Sydney for my interview and we shared a room at the Mercure. I recall it was less than $200 for our shared room but can't remember exactly how much it was. I caught a taxi to the consulate in the morning but walked back to the hotel afterwards. It really isn't far from the consulate but I didn't want to risk getting lost. A lot of people also seem to stay at the travel lodge on....Philip street??.. which is also really close.

If you can't get through on the phone then try emailing them. It may take a few days for a response but I've had to email them a few times when I was going through K-1 and found them very helpful when they replied. I can't remember their email by heart, don't have time to find it right now but it should be on their website somewhere. Hope you hear something soon
-
I opted out forever....but now we've decided to move to Oz so I'll just re enroll when we get back there, lol

Just for future reference for anyone else who needs to change their name with South Australian births deaths and marriages....
In the end I emailed them to ask if it would be fine for me to use my Oregon state ID, they replied about a little under a week later and said that would be fine. They also said that even though I'm doing a normal name change to still provide them with a certified copy of my marriage licence.

When we start the process, I will update here if you like. We're probably looking at applying in July/ August of next year because if we leave before March 2014 I won't have to remove conditions. I don't really want to have to bother with that when we're just going to leave anyway. We will probably start applying for things like Fbi check etc earlier in the year though. I've been on the mates up over website and reading about people there going through the process is really helpful! It seems so much simpler than K-1/CR-1
Filing K1 from Australia
in Australia and New Zealand

I'm not sure if I read your post right.....are you getting married in the US or Australia? If you filed for a K-1 then you cannot get married in Australia, you have to get married in the US. If you do get married in Australia then you have to withdraw the K-1 and file for a spouse visa.
Edit: Nevermind, I comopletely mis read your post. I should not be online so soon after getting out of bed, lol. Bets of luck to you both!!
