She didn't diss breast feeding, she dissed high milk prices and was using it as a dig. Considering our milk prices jumped 30 cents in a couple weeks, it's true. And you don't feed a baby under 1 yr old bottled (store bought)milk anyway.
(and I don't want her to run for Pres)

Which route do you think his raft took? I assume route # 1 was via Somalia so we can incorporate the pirates too.

(I ignored the Panama Canal route as I don't think a free floating raft with an infant on board would be able to make that journey.)

I've almost read the whole thread, but I can't take it anymore, it makes me sick... Being a Russian girl, I have something to say.
Yes, there are some cultural differences, so clearly Russian and American women are different, but I don't think that American men have a right to insult American women. I don't see the point. So, you've found somebody you love, somebody you care about and this person cares about you, but why on earth you have to critisize anybody else?
In fact, some Russian women have the same problem - they start dating foreigners and start saying that there are no decent men in Russia. The funniest thing is that when they break up with their foreign BFs they start being all like "Russian men are the best" It's just so FAKE. So I would never trust a man, who would be saying that there is something wrong with all American women. I'm glad my fiance is not like that, plus in would be like insulting not only some random women, but also his sisters and mom (who are all great and btw I saw them wearing heels if that's so important). And I'm also glad that he is with me for the reasons other than "not being a native english-speaker".
Another thing. The thought that all FSU women wear high heels and mini skirts all the time is a myth (sorry, guys). Well maybe there are some girls, who do that, but definitely not the smartest ones (no offence). Wearing a mini skirt in winter when it's freezing cold is not hot or classy, it's stupid. So is wearing high heels every single day when there are piles of snow and ice on the pavement. So is wearing heels to the beach, with all that sand. There are a lot more examples, but I think you got my point?
One more thing. Bragging how your wife cooks for you or does anything else wearing almost nothing is disgusting. I mean, c'mon, guys, don't you think it's something too personal to share with all those people on VJ you don't even know?

Hmm disturbing and yet not surprising. Kavi had hypospadias when born. He had surgery at 8 months old to fix it so he is fine now. But whenever I looked up info it said what causes it is unknown though genetics, environmental exposures and sometimes hormone treatments can cause it. Considering I wasn't on any special hormones, wasn't of advanced age, took prenatal vitamins before I even got pregnant, didn't do drugs, etc...there had to be some other reason.

I wasn't expecting to see this subject when I clicked on this thread but I guess a thread this long is bound to jump around.
I think it matters what someone's personality is like and how long they have been talking to someone online before forming those feelings. When people say they don't understand it, it means it didn't happen to them, obviously. I had a very strong attachment to my now husband after chatting to him for 2 years before meeting him in India. I knew I loved him. I didn't have to touch him to know I loved him. And thankfully everything in person went very well for us to affirm our feelings. There are things in life I also don't understand since I haven't experienced them.

I find it disturbing when a topic like this has hardly any people acting concerned about the victim and instead making jokes or non-caring comments. People can't even say "wow that is horrible for her". Amby did say that...haven't seen any care from the others replying.
(It's happened with other threads too. We aren't supposed to care about the actual article if it's being used to try to make another poster look wrong or continue an ongoing debate like guns. It's gross to me. Like the recent thread about the mom in FL who killed her kids. Very sad.)

The worst part is that most Americans' Bibles are of NIV (Americanese slang) translation--which should be a "no brainer" for them to understand (I can understand original KJV--due to my having to1 paraphrase three Shakespeare plays in HS--and Pras2 can nicely understand NKJV which is more like modern Brit).

basically, even to get a HS Diploma in Calgary required student to take Grades 10-12 English courses--and for admission to college/university, specifically higher-level (Calgary school boards have two stream-levels of HS English there--higher indicated as 10/20/30 and lower indicated by 13/23/33) given that English is neither her mother-tongue, nor (unlike me, raised in Calgary--Canadian English is a portmanteau of Brit spelling and Americanese grammar/semantics) raised in an area where English is commonest language--an excuse Americans simply don't have

I don't know why you acted so weird about what Steven said. It wasn't even that long ago on here that you said that in real life, you won't even tell your family members that you don't believe in God anymore. You don't want the confrontation or something, you said. You get to vent all this stuff online instead of real life - towards people you don't know. It painted a picture of fundamental religious relatives. Now all of the sudden you didn't really grow up religious. So why do you hide your feelings from them, if that was even the truth?
Something else must have happened to make you so bitter. You are always changing your VJ signature to something to try to make God or especially Christianity look bad. So which youtube video or scripture verse is next to share in your signature? I don't believe in Hinduism but I also don't make it my VJ mission to bad mouth them or put youtube videos making them look bad in my signature. It's not really that normal.

Dude, you have some serious, pent-up anger over your Fundamental Christian upbringing. Some therapy sessions with a good counselor would do you more good than continually projecting it here.

Why can't you marry your father or sister? How would a law like that ever come about... if not for a moral base?
Most areas have "adult establishiment" zoning laws.
Why can a BArnes and Nobles open up next to a school but an adult book store can't?

I know what you mean. But when you are studying certain things, the entire focus is not how it came to be that way. You learn the theory of how it came to be, then you focus on what it actually does at present. If you get a job that relates to one area of science that does not deal with discussing evolution every day, then it wouldn't be a hard thing. I have known several Christians who were creationists that did well at their scientific jobs. Did everyone else at their job know what they believed? Possibly.

As a lot of Christians are saying these days, which I am not willing to say as absolutely, they believe in evolution with God being the starter of it all. Since some people think even believing in God is not logical, do you think one day people will be discriminated against for spiritual beliefs when applying for certain jobs? You know, you can go through an entire education without having to express your personal beliefs, score perfect on all that is required of you, get an awesome job, and no one would actually know if you believe in creationism or evolution unless they ask you directly. They can just assume.

You can learn something and know all the data by memory without having to fully believe it. And I don't believe that hampers someone's ability to be a scientist.
