At least AJ was honest with his opinion and I believe that his contempt has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with ideology. He is contemptuous across the board with poorly thought out responses and he is particularly contemptuous over posters who post continuously using crude and vulgar bigotry.

Right. But I think some people aren't capable of doing that, or even want to do that, and they begin to grate on others until they ruin their chances of getting any respect. Imo.

I still think it would be a problem. For instance there is a fairly knowledgeable person in the upper forum that everyone loves to hate, just because he's made some bad choices in the past. I could see his advice getting knocked simply because people dislike him.
And whats so bad about pushing up the good advice? Isn't a 0 among a bunch of 4s the same as a -1 among 3s?

    Draw Mohammed day = stupid.
Getting upset over drawings of Mohammed = stupid.
Inciting violence over it = unacceptable. I think it's a loud minority though, but it makes the most exciting news.

I'm going to complain about the usage of "fml" by people. Like, omg my FB isn't loading right "fml"! Oh my gosh my pizza got cold "fml"! (just fyi, I made those up)
Wow I am soooo sorry about your really horrible life situations!
Just please complain without adding the "fml" unless you just almost died or had a leg amputated.

So you are offended by others being offended. Why bother being offended yourself? You don't live there. If it happened here in the US, you can protest it. Yes we should raise concerns when other countries control what their citizens can see, I understand that part. I just don't understand why you would personally be offended.

Yes, they do. Welcome to the United States.
Not just sidewalks, either. Many years ago, my supervisor at a work-study job in college, told me that in "real America", there were no paved parking lots, people parked their cars on the dirt and on gravel. I was only 18 but at that moment, it dawned on me. I worked for a freak.

I'm cheap too. Many of my jeans are Old Navy jeans and I got them the day after Thanksgiving when they put all the jeans for $15!! One of them is usually 34.99. I love a DEAL!! I have gotten jeans for even less on clearance racks, they hold up for years no problem. One of my current favorites I got for $8 on clearance at Target.

She is. She'll benefit from these budgets being defeated. This state spends too much money on administrators and teachers with decades of tenure, at the expense of the regular taxpayer and newer teachers who are always sacrificed just so the 20+ year people can keep their bennies.
All the teachers union has to do is accept a 1.5% contribution to their own health premiums and a 1-year wage freeze (not unreasonable given the economic climate) and all those non-tenured teachers they're planning to fire can keep their jobs.

The first time we went to India all together, Kavi was just over 1 yrs old. We had him on our laps for a 3 hour flight and then a 15 hour flight both ways. That was of course very tiring. This year he was over 2 and he had his own seat, in his carseat. Much easier.
When he was 1 and when went, he did ok on the flights. Except for some crying on take off or landing bc of ear pressure I believe. If your international flight has the tv screens behind every seat and a wide selection, I think that can keep your child interested while awake. Once in India, he slept a lot trying to adjust to jet lag but he wasn't very grumpy. Though the first night or two, to me, feels like complete torture with that much of jet lag(ours 9.5 hours), with a very small child, in a very far away place. If you need to sleep and your child won't, there isn't much you can do. It gets better after adjusting more to the time difference.
We took continental both years and they have lots of choices of what to watch, and kids' programs. On the way home from India this year, Kavi's screen was the only one I saw that wasn't working! Argh. But he mostly slept anyway. We bring minimal toys on the plane, nothing that makes noise, and if you are carrying a car seat and stroller around an airport, you will not want to lug around lots of other carry on baggage. This year we managed to get all our carry on into one small suitcase(with wheels), only very needed things.
Being 2yrs old in India this year, was a different story from last year. He had a horrible adjustment the first week or so. I wrote about it a couple pages ago on here. His emotional adjustment to the trip was much better when he was 1.

If you listened to her music, were a fan of hers, read her lyrics of past hits, you as a Christian fan would defend her against such rumors that would go against what she seemed she had stood for before. Whether she had her own struggle to admit it, I am sure she did and I don't know when it started. People do change, I know. But the rumors have been going on for years with her being silent on them until now.
I don't feel respect from you on here most of the time. Saying things like 'you don't seem to understand" and other similar phrases in various discussions on here for a long time doesn't feel very respectful to my intelligence. Maybe you don't even realize you do it, but you are often condescending.
