ITO here too, moving out from South Schleswig-Holstein, close to Hamburg. The contact with them so far for an offer etc. was very professional, helpful and very friendly.

Nicht ganz billig, aber super Referenzen. Wir werden ITO Möbelspedition nehmen. Der Service bisher (Vorbereitungen, telefonischer Kontakt) lief bisher super. Angebot kam super schnell. Die haben auch in Hamburg ein Büro (unser Umzug geht von Kreis Pinneberg, S-H).

Try putting punctuation where you would stop and take a breath if you were reading it out loud. It seems like your use of English is fine and you need to take the time to break up your thoughts with punctuation. Surely you know this is one thought---
"Sorry English isn't my first language." [breath] So use a period before your next thought
    "Someone was rude about....." [breath]
    "I'm trying....."
If you are using a phone to write your messages, then it is more trouble to switch to the keyboard for punctuation, but do it anyway if you want people to to also take the trouble to answer your questions. Notice commas can also be used where you would stop to breathe if reading.

This is potentially dangerous advice to give - if it looks too much like a wedding, even if nothing official gets signed - they could reject the K1 because they consider them already married and therefore no longer eligible for a fiance visa and that would have some not-so-pleasant repercussions if other people here on VJ are to be believed (and I have no reason to question them).

Or, go to Canada, get legally married now (courthouse), then file the CR-1 for your wife. Keep your wedding plans, do a big celebratory wedding (everything except make it legal because you already did), and you'll only have a (potentially) few more months until her visa is issued after the wedding.
Immigration takes a little bit of the romance out of things, but it's the way it is. Better to do it legally and properly now than have a problem down the road. I see the USCIS like the IRS....you make think it was years ago and have forgotten, but they never forget!

This might be naive - but why don't YOU just file the divorce papers that are sitting at your place if she'd already signed them. You might have to pay the filing fee, but should still be less than if she dragged things out and you start your new career.
Re what she could potentially do to you: She could claim physical abuse and file for removal of conditions under VAWA - be careful not to be alone with her. (Check the forum for people who've been taken for that by searing for VAWA).
I'd file the papers you have (keep the envelope etc an make copies before you do) and get her out of your life ASAP. If she can prove that you have both entered the marriage legitimately she could probably still remove conditions by herself but that wouldn't really be your problem anymore (though not sure about the affidavit of support if she uses means tested benefits).
    Sorry you're going through this!

1- Your expired passport won't be a problem except in that you won't be able to travel if you don't renew it. As a German, you should be aware that there's a special petition you have to file to maintain German citizenship once you become an American... on of the other Germans on here can help you with that.
2- Make sure you have something to document that the ticket was thrown out... if you don't go to the courthouse and ask for the final disposition stating that the charges were dismissed.

As always - I would refrain from booking anything that cannot be cancelled / moved. You haven't filled in your timeline so I can't tell where in the process for your K1 you are. From your location I assume you are at CSC which currently is working really fast, but could slow down again before you get your visa in hand, if you haven't got it yet. But even if you get your visa in time for September, it might take longer than 2 months for AP - mine took over 90 days for example. There might be a wait to get married (some states require some time after applying for the marriage license), then you need to wait for the marriage certificate to be ready so depending on when in September you will be able to file for AOS + EAD + AP and when you want to be in the Philippines, the timeline might be tight.
    Good luck!

After you get married and have obtained your marriage certificate you need to file for Adjustment of Status (AOS). The process can take several months depending on the workload of the USCIS office. Once you're ready to apply, check the timelines of people in the same local office recently approved to get an idea. You can apply (with no additional cost) for a work permit and a travel permit which approximately takes 90 days, though can be as early as 60. Check out the guides above for AOS.
    Good Luck!

The best solution may be to go to the court house or whatever and get married like tomorrow, file for the CR1, then have your big wedding when you want. You can still visit freely, and you should have a visa a few months after the big event. You don't get to pick how immigration laws work to your advantage, Some couplpes have to wait years to be together and can't visit.

N&S reacted to Nich-Nick in Another warning K1s. Get your shots!
ThIs is probably the 500th time I have said this in the UK FORUM --
You will save yourself time and frustration if you make getting your shots a priority over rushing to make your medical appointment. Sometimes there is a wait to get a shot appointment so check that out before worrying about calling NVC for your LND number so you can jump the queue to get a medical appointment. You can even do it before your NOA2.
Here is yet another post from someone who didn't get shots BEFORE going to Knightsbridge. He now needs a civil surgeon to fill in an immunization form before he can file AOS. He has called twenty. They want him to pay $600 and have another full medical. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/541758-i-693-merged/
Do not believe the Knightsbridge nurse who says you can go to your GP after the exam and use that proof for your AOS. You will have to get signed off by a Civil Surgeon. If you get signed off on all the shots at Knightsbridge, that immunizations sheet is good for AOS. If she says you are a K1 and don't need the shots now, tell her I WANT THEM, even if you have to pay. It beats being that person who gets quoted $600 in the US.
Here's some more examples of problems UK people have posted.

N&S got a reaction from Jacque67 in Family has "withdrawal" issues
Does your MIL not have a driver's license? She can come over, rent a car and the two of them (if your wife doesn't work yet) can do day trips and you can all have some together time in the evening. Or if your wife isn't working yet and her mother is willing to cover the ticket costs, why doesn't your wife take a week - 10 day trip by herself giving you time to work on your new project at work without feeling bad about doing long hours and giving her a chance to visit with family. Assuming your wife is wanting to go.
I understand how important it is for your wife and for you as a couple to have her integrate into her new social surroundings, but that doesn't change the fact, that her home country is her home country and that she has family there and as they say "absence makes the heart grow fonder" so the two of you will enjoy being together even more after her short absence

don't scare the OP with mis-information. people have destination weddings all of the time. Just be honest, and bring ties to Germany when entering in case they ask.
OP, it sounds like you already have your plan in mind! Congratulations, and with a spousal visa, they can work as soon as they arrive, which for a lot of people is a huge factor. For busy-bodies, there is nothing worse than sitting at home for many months on end waiting for AOS to be approved after a K-1 wedding. The downside is that the visa may take a bit longer to process, and that you would be apart after marriage.

Regarding name change - it seems to vary by state. For example here in MA filling in your new last name on the marriage license (which you then hand back to city office and get your marriage certificate) is sufficient to change your last name, in FL you don't seem to put your (new) married name on the license therefore you have to take more steps to change it officially since it longer defaults to woman taking man's name.
