We've moved three times in the past year and only completed the AR-11 form once because we knew those residences were temporary. No biggie.

I was told that in order to get married in Russia I have to be in the country a minimum of 30 days.
Getting that length of time off work is almost impossible.
She is afraid that she would not be able to get a tourist visa to the US.
Our biggest problem is money. Not near enough of it.
It makes the fiancé visa requirement of visiting first an expensive venture.
I wish there was a quicker way to get us together.
Oh you haven't met?
Maybe someone else can chime in but applying for a CR1 after meeting once just to get married sounds like a big red flag to me.
**Get a doctor to make some note that you're ill and can't wait 30 days to marry. Or just pester the workers there.
-
Yes, but you can get married in Russia. CR1 will take over 6 months in all likelihood.

What if he did take your advice? Do you want to take that responsibility? Are you that confident that that will resolve things? Are you so confident that destroying a marriage and ending what they have is your answer and theirs? Always becareful of words you say and words you put in people's minds and ears.
Its hard being away from each other... thousands of miles carries alot of stress. No one should tell another that they aren't good for each other and their better off divorced. Those are loaded words that carry alot of responsibility.
Oh please.
He thinks she is crazy enough to warrant seeing a mental health specialist.
She doesn't seem to trust him much.
I don't foresee this improving. There's no marriage to destroy if they already have these issues.
Moving together won't solve everything. On the contrary; culture shock, being away from family, etc will put a bigger strain on them once the "honeymoon" phase is over.
Cross-cultural relationships where immigration is involved are not easy.
Take control of the relationship.
Tell her "It's My Way or the Highway", Do not let her back talk you.
Tell her Women whom backtalk in USA, end up growing old living all alone with a house full of cats
Aside from the emotional abuse attitude involves, telling a woman with social anxiety a line like this will make her worse.

Withdraw the petition, meet more than once, and re-file. You will be denied. Not meeting + likely most high fraud embassy = denial.
-
Well, there's some good news for people still at the petition stage...
"
Now, with the legal fight stretching on, DHS has decided to use the Crystal City edifice as a general service center for all citizenship and immigration services programs not blocked by the federal injunction, officials said Wednesday.
Shin Inouye, a spokesman for Citizenship and Immigration Services, said the new Potomac Service Center will house about 750 employees and will supplement existing service centers in California, Texas, Nebraska and Vermont that are at “maximum capacity.” Citizenship and Immigration Services is central to managing the nation’s immigration system and processes more than 6 million citizenship and other applications and petitions each year.
The new facility, expected to begin operating by late August, is not open to the public. Officials said they are now proceeding with hiring for the center, which will be funded through fees collected from immigrants who file applications."Still awful about the visa printing issue. Hopefully it'll be resolved soon.

Examination on the application = receipt of application, it is not interview.
Yes, this is exactly what was throwing me off, thank you!

So we're within the 90 day-to-file for citizenship early timeframe, however we just moved to another state about two weeks ago. Do we have to wait to be in this state 90 days before filing for citizenship?
-
Unfortunately my GPA prohibits this option.
Then no offense but what makes you think you'll get accepted in a US school? I'm not sure if you're going for a graduate or undergraduate degree, but, aside from the cost of attending, any decent school in the US is very, very competitive.

Actually, I think it's him who is selfish, by not telling you about his niece, and more importantly, after you flying to Morocco, not even having the respect to stand within five feet of you.

What is it with the seemingly increasing number of troll-ish threads with fantastic stories like this?
-
Your husband will have a very hard time anywhere in the US, where most people lump all Latin Americans in one group. Outside the US, he is Dominican. In the US, he is Latino or "Spanish". As this thread shows, people generally don't understand the pervasive racism/xenophobia between people Latin American countries. Dominicans famously dislike Haitians (given history, it should be the other way around!), Puerto Ricans look down on Dominicans, etc. It's like that.
Regardless, the fact that he takes this out on you the way he does makes it look like he's most certainly using you for a green card.

They can now work on the legal stuff only.
With the same amount of service centers as there currently are, instead of having an extra one that will possibly shorten timelines in the future.
-
Maybe they can use the money they were going to put into this, and the new hires to USCIS to process our freaking applications, clear AP and give our family members visas!!
They should worry about legal immigration first before illegal immigration.
Actually, a new service center was to be opened (to start working sometime in the summer, to work on the illegal immigrant stuff and then with other applications), but with this being halted, I'm not sure if that'll go as planned.

Do you live in Russia?
-
OP, how does this not sound supremely suspicious to you?

av8or1 said it perfectly. Russian women from Moscow are different than American women from New York. I wish someone would write a book or blog about it. Different culture, different world. I offered many times too give money too my fiancee but she always declined. Lucky me....Russian women are the best, just be careful the next time.
I lived in Moscow a few years and you are right. There is no place on Earth more materialistic and appearances-driven than Moscow.
You know, it doesn't matter at all, whether OP was scammed or who scams more than who. What matters for OP is that his relationship is over and he should not pursue to fix this relationship.
-
Try to resolve your conflicts. You're in a new country and with a child. It's going to be hard at first.
-
Where are you getting your "facts" OP?
-
Citizenship won't change much for us except he can vote, but then again it wasn't his life dream to be a USC. Just so happened he married an American.

Red flag as in discrimination.
Irrelevant, she needs to asses the red flags in her case and plan accordingly.
Thoughts on my current hardship letter for my wife's ban please!

If it were me, I'd write about the health issues before writing on your grandfather and work situation.
