Hi everyone, long time reader, but not a long time member of the forum.

My fiance and I have a K-1 visa appliation and after a year of waiting, we have made it through to the stage where today I have recieved my notification that I am now eligible to schedule a visa interview appointment. YAY for us.

I log onto https://www.usvisascheduling.com and create an account and when I get to the visa options page, it gives me the option of Immigrant and non-immigrant as the visa type. When I select non-immigrant the post visa category does not have an option for a K visa, so instead I select immigrant as the visa type and I now have the option for a K visa. I select the K visa and the next screen asks for my DS confirmation number - but it asks for the DS 260 confirmation number.

The problem here is I filled out the DS 160 as a non-immigrant visa application because I understand that a K-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa application with the intent to become an immigrant and that a DS 260 is NOT to be used for K-1 visa applications.

So I am confused, I have 3 options but all of them seem wrong...
- Do I start the visa interview appointment application again, select non-immigrant and select a different type of post visa category? (K-1 visa is not an option I can select under non-immigrant)
- Do I enter my DS 160 confirmation number where it asks for the DS 260 confirmation number and hope for the best? (it says it cannot be modified after entry - which worries me that I might scrw up the process and rewind the process a year or more)
- Do I fill out a DS 260 and use that confirmation number? (I have read multiple threads on here that says a DS 260 is NOT for K-1 visa applicants)

I've included some screen grabs of the interview scheduling site (no personal details included) to hopefully help explain what I am seeing.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.

Hellos! I ve been googling trying to find a solid answer on this. But somehow can t find it.

After the k1 visa marriage (we were married last month) is there a time limit after that to do the adjustment of status within? We ve run into some money issues, so I m having a bit of a panic about when we have to have this done by so I can legally stay.

Hi all, anyone know how long the medical should take at Citymed? My appointment is at 11am and my flight back to Wellington is at 4pm - do you think I'll make my flight? Planning on using the Skydrive bus to get back to the airport. Thanks anyone who can help.

RFIE for I-864 - but we had included everything

Hi everyone! I just got an RFIE for the I-864 on my I-485 application - apparently they need a new form even though I had sent the entire form which was signed and included (what I'm pretty sure is) the correct household size (2).

It was also the correct and only version USCIS has on their website so it can't be that it was an out of date version. Has anyone else experienced a similar RFIE? I'm gonna resent it all and maybe add payslips (and W2's? idk) for extra evidence. Just confused about if maybe they just lost the I-864 from my file haha. Just really hoping that if I resent it all that it'll suffice and it wasn't somehow something else we got wrong in the filing process that caused this.

What counts or doesn't count as financial support?

Hi everyone!

I've applied for AOS (came in on a K1) which obviously involves not being able to work and being 'financially supported' by my husband. I know as far as uscis and the us government is concerned, you have to be financially supported so you don't run out of money and then become a public charge. Obviously we've both discussed this but I'm still kinda confused about where the line is between: basic living expenses being covered, and, well, anything above that being covered. I figure it's the first of the two. And I wanna make it clear that I'm not wanting every single dollar accounted for and have everything (non-essential) bought for me! Just unsure of where the divide is.

But, I also don't know if I'm being stingey by being hesitant to contribute to the costs of things like meals or gas, or if that should all come under 'financial support'. Or does it just vary massively between people? I'm not even sure what I'm asking now haha. I guess I just wanna get a vague feel for what everyone else does or has experienced.
