  1. Yes, ask for info. That is what I did for mine. And it was great. The embassy was very easy to deal with and they answered all my questions. They know what they are doing very well. Get the offer letter as soon as possible though. And send your marriage certificate and your offer letter. That will kick start the process.
  2. Just wanted to follow up and see if anyone had any questions about the process. So far the embassy has been great. We submitted our DCF and got it approved in 6 days. Then the next day we got packet 3. It doesn't say to send it anywhere, just to "bring it" to the embassy. I've seen a lot of people here "sending" it somewhere. Not sure if I'm confused. However, all seems to be going according to the timeline since we have to leave at the end of November. Doctor appointment also says that is not required prior to the interview, although the interview set up process says that it does, but I'm assuming that's the general appointment thing, and not a DCF. So we have a medical schedule for next week and we already requested an interview. I'm hoping the interview is within the next week or so, since we have everything we need. If so, this process was incredible and way faster than going the USCIS route (of course because we have an emergency situation to move, but still). If I can finish the visa process in a month, that would be epic.
  3. What documents do we need for Package 3 (I think is called). I want to get ahead of the Embassy in getting everything they might need filed out and processed. Just to ensure that we can meet our timeline. I have an exceptional circumstance of moving from Germany back to the US. But my start date is Nov 6. I summited the DCF request after we got married (since we have a baby together), and today 10/18/23 they mentioned they received the DCF request.
  4. Everyone, Thank you! All of you have been very instrumental in this. I'm so glad I didnt use the lawyers I consulted with and decided to do my own research. I just sent an email to Frankfurt embassy to request what we need. We can easily get married in Denmark very soon (as they have very easy requirements like Las Vegas). I'm fortunate to be able to afford that rather quickly. So we will get married in the next couple of weeks and apply for the DCF. Again, thank you because this is the best advice I've been given for this process! @Crazy Cat First time posting. I had been here before for a previous matter (that didn't work out). But I have to make this one work. Can't leave the baby alone :D
  5. Hello All, I’ve just started with the process for my girlfriend to get the visa expedited. We currently live in Germany together and we are having a baby. I’m a disabled veteran who struggles with anxiety and depression. I’m wanting to move back to the US for better healthcare and VA healthcare access. I received a job offer that allows me to move rather quickly, in about 6 months. And I was wondering what are the chances of expedited based on humanitarian or any other category. I recently submitted an expedited request online but the chat didn’t ask for much info. I got denied for the expedite but I’m currently pursuing one with the Senator of Florida. Does anyone have any experience on this? What are the chances or ways I should phrase it to really get the point across? My anxiety and depression will kill me if I’m away from my gf and baby when he’s born. They fully depend on me financially. Not sure if financial loss (having to pay for everything here plus housing for myself going back to USA) is a way to submit it. Please let me know your thoughts!
