  1. Hello, I got a RFE for the I-485 for petitioning sponsor on Form I-864 evidence of US National. I was in a rush to get to work and uploaded just a .jpg picture of my US Passport Biographical Page to the online USCIS account response submission and did not include the original RFE letter nor a cover page. Should I resubmit a mailed hard copy with letter and cover page? Deadline isn't until June 17, 2024. I read on the forum from a thread years ago someone did the same (online submission without original RFE letter then a snail mail copy with RFE letter) and had no issues. Another was a snail mail RFE response without original letter and the main concern was responding to RFE via snail mail without the original letter and having no way to connect the submitted evidence to their case. I assume since I submitted it online via my USCIS Account, its attached/connected to my application. Thanks
  2. Thank You! That's what I figured but wanted to be sure.
  3. Hello, Is the fiance allowed to travel to other countries after a successful K-1 Interview, yet prior to entering US? For example, medical exams and Colombia consulate approves K-1 interview January and gets passport and all documents back. Fiance travels to Mexico and Argentina February, then enters USA March all within 6 months of medical exams. Thanks
  4. Curious to hear if the final outcome with bringing the dog over? I'm in the same situation with my fiance wanitng to bring her dog over but classified as high risk rabies country.
  5. Hello, My question is my fiance wants to bring her 14 year old dog with her (From Colombia to Houston, TX)(assuming in ~3 months given the current timeline of receiving NOA2 3 weeks ago and NVC email today.) and wanted to see if anyone else has done this process to confirm what all is required. Colombia falls under the High-Risk Countries for Dog Rabies per CDC My understanding is there are 3 requirements to meet: - CDC Requirements - USDA Requirements - Texas Department of State Health Services Requirements 1) CDC Requirements - Rabies CDC website it states: "CDC is extending its temporary suspension of dog importation from high-risk dog rabies countries until July 31, 2024. This suspension includes dogs arriving from countries without high risk of rabies if the dogs have been in a high-risk country in the past 6 months." This ban has been in effect since July 2021. https://www.cdc.gov/importation/bringing-an-animal-into-the-united-states/dog-origin.html#:~:text=CDC is extending its temporary,in the past 6 months. On an extremely limited basis, CDC has the authority to issue advance written approval (a CDC Dog Import Permit) to bring a dog from a high-risk country. If you wish to import a dog from a high-risk country, you must request advance written approval by emailing CDCanimalimports@cdc.gov at least 30 business days (6 weeks) before you intend to enter the United States. No CDC Dog Import Permits are issued upon arrival. Dogs that arrive from high-risk countries without advance written approval from CDC will be denied entry and returned to the country of departure at the importer’s expense. Beginning March 1, 2023, all foreign-vaccinated dogs entering the United States from rabies high-risk countries must have a valid CDC Rabies Vaccination and Microchip Record in addition to either a CDC Dog Import Permit or a reservation at a CDC-approved animal care facility. CDC will NOT accept foreign-issued pet passports or any other certificates for foreign rabies vaccinations. Foreign-vaccinated dogs coming from high-risk countries are now required to use the CDC Rabies Vaccination and Microchip Record as proof of rabies vaccination. Use of this record is also encouraged for US-vaccinated dogs, though not required. Dogs entering the United States from high-risk countries are still required to meet all requirements of the temporary suspension" Has anyone successfully completed a CDC Dog Import Permit from a High-Risk Country? 2) USDA Requirements - Screwworm & Foot and Mouth Disease The dog has been inspected for screwworm within 5 days prior to shipment to the United States; and The dog is either free from screwworm OR The dog was infested with screwworm, held in quarantine, and treated until free from screwworm prior to leaving the region. Their fur and bedding must be free of excessive dirt, hay, or straw. The dog should be bathed as soon as it reaches its destination and kept separate from all livestock for 5 days after entering the United States. Dogs used in livestock handling that are imported from any part of the world except Canada, Mexico, and certain regions of Central America and the West Indies should have no evidence of tapeworm infection. 3) Texas Requirements Once in Texas, if a USDA-approved vaccine was not used or the veterinarian who administered it was not licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the United States, compliance must be achieved. For entry into Texas, the following criteria must be met: At the time of vaccination, the animal was at least the minimum age prescribed for the vaccine; and The time elapsed since the most recent vaccination has not exceeded the recommended interval for the booster vaccination as established by the vaccine’s manufacturer. Additionally, to qualify as being currently vaccinated, 30 days must have lapsed since the initial vaccination.
  6. Did you mean to link the video talking about religious ceremonies? In my situation, we never did any sort of ceremony, just text messages using the word "spouse" I didn't see any mention of that in the video you linked, but still good information on ceremonies thank you!
  7. This is great information! Thank You! I did not know this existed and my fiancee had forgotten about this. We will do this after the holidays!
  8. I appreciate the response. I understand I made the mistake of including the chat logs and am fully aware it will potentially come up. I am currently preparing for it as best as I can, I understand there is no set answer on chance of approval at this point and I appreciate all opinions on chances of success as it gives me food for thought on whether to pivot now or take a chance to wait through until the interview. Thank You all
  9. Hello, When I submitted my I-129F, I attached 23 pages of WhatsApp chat logs spread out over the timeline of the relationship. I didn't think much of it and didn't read through every single line until reading another forum post. My fiance is Colombian and she uses the term "husband(esposo)" as a term of endearment and her way she feels of being sweet in our texts. I went back and reviewed the copy I made of what I submitted in my K-1 Packet, and of the 23 pages of texts, she used "husband" 3 times and I called her "wife" once. We also have plenty of uses of boyfriend/girlfriend in the earlier messages as well as fiance. Also are conversations where she says "marry meee" in a playful manner which in text may not come off that way. All our social medias show engaged/fiance. Bad mistake on my end, I know, that just didn't cross my mind when I was submitting the packet. From what I've read, this will be an issue during the interview for my fiance and this looks like i'll be denied? My question is if the interviewer will read through each line of the 23 pages of text messages and what our chances of approval are at now? I only submitted the K-1 packet 2 months ago. Trying to decide if it's a high chance of denial because of those text messages, would it be better to pivot to CR-1 now instead of waiting 1.5 years for a rejection and then starting the CR-1 process? Thanks for any advice!
  10. @Phoenix_9007 Did you send any screenshots of the whatsapp messages in your original packet? I'm in the same boat, my fiance is Colombian and super romantic type so she calls me husband/spouse in spanish in our whatsapp messages in her way of being cute and sweet. I didn't think much about it or check when I submitted my initial I-129F packet and looking back now on the copy of my submission, a few times those words were mentioned in our whatsapp messages but also fiance is used quite a bit too. Should I prepare for denial and start thinking about appeal/Plan B? Based on above commenters, seems like theres no chance of approval now. My fiance is very worried about it now that I've brought it up.
  11. Hello, I am filling out the I-129F. I currently live at one address. My new house is being built and I will be moving there in ~6 months. For Section 8 (Mailing Address), do i put my current address or the address I will be moving to? Same for Section 45 - Address in the US where your beneficiary intends to live. She will arrive obviously much later than 6 months from now so I assume I put my new address?
