  • Our Story
I met my husband on Facebook through Friends in common. We are members of the same church. I am a USC. We married January 2020 and I moved to Jamaica to be with him. I tried to make a life there but I decided to come home Dec 2020. I filed for him November 2020.He has never been to the US and I can't wait to show him my country!

  1. I also filed single as my spouse wasn't here and didn't have a SSN. I also made enough to qualify for the current year needed but not for the previous years and did not have a problem. My husband is here now!
  2. Yes, there is approximately a year wait for interviews in Jamaica for Immigrant Visa but I am not familiar what the wait is for your category.
  3. I hired a lawyer. I tried to do it myself and became overwhelmed. I have heard of many who made mistakes and after waiting over a year, thier petition was rejected. I didn't want to take that chance. I read several reviews to find a attorney with success stories. I also found a attorney with a set fee, and payment plan ,who didn't get paid until we would reach the next phase in the process. For me, it was worth it for my piece of mind. I am in the final lap now, hoping to hear a decision any day now!
  4. My husband just had his interview at the Embassy and the divorce papers he gave them were the first one you submitted. They accepted the documents with no problem.
  5. I don't think it's a problem, the same thing happened to me. When I moved from AZ to NC, NC never took my Az Driver's license. I recently moved back home. Thinking I still had a AZ license but found out it was deactivated.
  6. My husband had his interview, he said they asked him: When did you meet your wife When did you first meet in person When was the last time you saw your wife If either of us had children If he's ever been out of the country If he's ever been arrested He also asked him for photos of us( My husband gave them the envelope, I prepared, which had photos with dates, photo of whatsapp messages, receipts of money my husband sent me, cards my documented residency book when I lived there. Etc) He said prior to interview, a lady collected my tax return transcript, our birth certificates, our marriage certificate, my divorce papers, his police certificate, his passport. They asked if his medical was completed, he said no, it's sch 11/10. They told him to make sure he register with courtier so they can return his passport after medical to complete process. They told him he should hear something a week and a half after medical. They told him not to make any arrangements yet but to be sure he Flys out before 4/23. They also gave him a form on domestic violence but then said he's a big man and should be able to handle himself.
  7. I emailed them at Kingstonivappointment@state.gov
  8. My expedite was approved 9/30 and I received a interview letter yesterday, so almost a month.
  9. I also never received the second one. I uploaded the first one to NVC and they said I was documentary qualified so hopefully the embassy won't have a issue with my documents.
  10. I recently applied to expedite my case and it was approved the next day. It has been about 10 days now since approval and I am currently waiting on a interview!
  11. I filed for Husband Nov 2020 and We are currently waiting for a interview in Jamaica! We have been DQ since July 2022. I recently found out , I need surgery so I filed an expedite request and it was approved!! Can't believe an end to this separation and loneliness is finally in sight!
