  1. Hang in there, I know it's a tough road. We filed during covid and the US/CAN was closed so waiting in limbo for USCIS to approve us my fiance wasn't allowed to visit All I can advise is make sure you have everything that the consulate will ask for. You can prepare your tax records for the last few years and search where to get the right background check when the time comes for the interview. I had so much proof of a relationship with me, it weighed 15 pounds. Still waiting on visa, but as hard as it seems in waiting for any updates there is a light at the end of the tunnel
  2. The USCIS received our I129F on December 31 2020 after we sent it on October 22 It was February 17 2021 we had NOA1 August 17 2021 we got NOA2 and USCIS approval November 3 2021 from NVC it had been received Consulate received paperwork in mid January 2022(can't remember exact date) We submitted the DS160 on February 16 20200 The consulate booked my interview March 17 for May 4 2022 I had the wrong background check at the interview I submitted the correct background check on May 16th and it was received in the consulate mailroom on May 19 Status date changed on June 15 but status remained refused As of today status has changed to application received Expecting visa to be sent out within the next 1-2 days "Your case is open and ready for your interview, fingerprints, and required documents. If you have already had your interview, please check your status after two business days. For more information, please visit U.S. Consulate General Montreal." Yes, you have to move to the United States within 6 months of your medical examine and marry within 90 days You are also not allowed to leave the United States until you have your green card/adjustment of status completed and you always have to carry your card with you. If you leave the US without it, they can refuse you entry back into the United States.
  3. Hi all, I had my interview in Montreal on May 4 and my visa was refused because of the background check (The visa clerk said it would have been approved if I had the fingerprint background check) I had the name/DOB police background check not the RCMP fingerprint. The visa clerk told me 1-2 weeks when they receive it I should have my visa issued and sent out however I am now in week 4, going into week 5 I was able to get the fingerprint background check completed and back within a week and the consulate mailroom received my documents on May 19. In anyones recent experience, how long did it take for you to receive your visa after they received the correct paperwork? Do you remember what day the tracking number was emailed to you? I thought I read somewhere that visas are generally issued on Wednesdays and shipped Fridays. Any insight would be really appreciated TIA
  4. You'll want the certificate that has your parents name on it I brought both and that is what I was told
