  1. Good luck, having just gone thru K-1, that is what I would suggest unless you plan on staying in PHl a fqir amount in the next 2 years. it is a long and tedious process. my fiancee came from Rwanda and once the paperwork make it made it to Rwanda, the process was pretty quick. arrived in US on Oct 10, got married on Nov 5, filed paperwork for AOS, travel and work permit in Dec. Received work approval in February, did biometrics in April, had aos interview in May, received green card in early June. Never received travel permit, but niw we don’t need it. what is sad, my mother-in-law in Rwanda applied for tourist visa and was rejected immediatly(no discussion or questions). overall the process was long and the information was very tedious- but certainly worth the effort. good luck
  2. Had interview today at US Embassy in Kigali, interview was easy and visa was APPROVED! Will pick up passport with visa on Friday, Sept 23!
  3. Today we received confirmation that the embassy received our visa payment so we confirmed our appointment for Sept 19. It turns out the embassy only does interviews on the 19th or 30th of the month. Now scheduling the physical and gathering all needed info for the interview. Plan to fly to the US on Oct 7!!! It is in sight!
  4. On Monday we received email from Embassy saying we could schedule our interview on Aug 30 or Sept 19. Aug 30 was impossible, so we are trying for Set 19. We completed D-160 online and registered on Embassy web site yesterday. Today we paid the visa fee with cash at the approved local bank. Once the embassy receives confirmation of the payment, we will be able to confirm the Sept 19 date and schedule the physical.
  5. We received nothing after NOA2 till we received the email saying our petition was in transit to the embassy. Interestingly, after 3 days, when checking the status on the embassy tracking website using using our case number, it now says “ready”, which I think means we can now possibly schedule our interview and complete what they say is necessary prior to the interview.
  6. We received notice from the NVC today that our petition is in transit to the embassy and we received our case number. It took 60 days from NOA2. But finally!
  7. Hi - has anyone heard from the NVC, we received NOA2 on June 16 and have not heard anything since. Very frustrating and disappointing.
  8. Bahrainexpat- it is my understanding that upon arrival in US, requirement is to get married(within 90 days) and then you can file I-765 for Employment Authorization and I-485 Adjustment of status (for green card). Just curious how to apply for expedited case based on employment opportunity if it will take months to receive authorization for employment. You seem to have found a work around and if so please share. Thanks so much and good luck!
  9. We received NOA2 on June 16. Received letter today, form I-797 The letter says “The above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance”. it says nothing about NVS. Is this what the letter said that you received from USCIS?
  10. We received NOA2 last week, we received letter in mail today that says”The above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance.” Is this the same letter that everyone gets? We were expecting it to say it was approved and sent to the NVS. We were wondering what other NOA2 couples received. Thanks and hang in there if you are not approved yet!
  11. NOA1 - May 10, 2021 NOA2 - June 16, 2022 Finally! Hope everyone will be approved soon!
  12. Etherial - thank you so much for the work you do keeping us informed. We have same NOA as you 5/10/21, lets hope May processing picks up.
  13. To Xiaova - can you explain the scans you are doing and what are the numbers? Do they correspond to the NOA1 receipt numbers? Our NOA1 is 5/10/21 and our receipt begins with 855XX. Thanks so much for your information.
  14. To Fil and Em. - I am new to visa journey, I am curious about the scan info you post, what are the numbers, do they relate to the USCIS receipt number, and how are you getting this information? Our NOA1 is 5/10/2021.
