  1. Hello! Can you share a bit about the hep b shot that you got? Did you just get one dose from the travel clinic and that was okay for your medical appointment? I am so confused, the instructions I received say "2, 3, or 4 doses depending on vaccine or condition. A partial series is acceptable as long as the next injection in the series is not due at the time.". I am planning on getting a hep b shot from my family doctor before the medical appointment, but I am wondering if one does is enough?
  2. Hello! I have my medical appointment in less than a month and I am confused about the hep B requirement. The instructions from the immigration doctor for my age group require "2, 3, or 4 doses depending on vaccine or condition. A partial series is acceptable as long as the next injection in the series is not due at the time." I am confused on if I should get a hep b vaccination from my family doctor ASAP or not. I had 1 hep B vaccination in 2005 and I don't know if that counts for anything as it is so old. Is it best to go to my family doctor and get a hep b vaccine, or should I wail until I see the immigration doctor? I am worried about the timing of the doses and getting vaccinated too early or too late. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
  3. ***FOLLOW UP*** It took 3 separate police certificates but I finally got the correct one! I am an expert at being fingerprinted now! I only was able to get the correct format because I was given the "boss" of the Commissionaires at my RCMP Station's name and I just called everyday until I was able to get ahold of him. I explained what I needed and he said he could do it for me. I didn't do or ask for anything different the 3rd time unfortunately in order to get the correct format, it came down to the Commissionaire knowing how to correctly input the information into their system. Each time I brought the sheet with the exact asks from the US government but I guess it comes down to the officer's knowledge of how to input specific fields.
  4. I am sorry you are having this issue as well! I have never heard of the Montreal embassy requesting a police certificate for someone. What I have done is I was given the name of the Commissionaire who is I charge/the manager at my local RCMP station and just called and showed up every day until I could talk to him. He seemed to know how to input it in the system to get a Police Certificate in the correct format but I won’t know for 3ish weeks until it arrives! I recently found the Facebook group “Montreal K1 Visa Applicants” and I am finding it a lot more helpful that visa journey if that helps! There are posts in there about Police Certificates too.
  5. Last month I went to my RCMP Station and asked for a Police Certificate. I brought the information sheet from https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Canada.html to ensure that it was entered correctly as I know the Canadian Police Certificates can be tricky. I ensured to ask for RCMP National Repository Entire Holdings and for type "other". Today my police certificate arrived but I believe it is incorrect, it has my photo and fingerprints on it. The gov website and the letter I was sent specifically say that "The requested document is fingerprint-based, but the report does not include an image of the applicant or the applicant’s fingerprints.". I went back to the RCMP and explained that I need a Police Certificate without my fingerprints and photo on it and they said that this is impossible and does not exist. I showed an example of someone else's I found in the linked thread and they said that they do not know how to get a Police Certificate without my fingerprints and photo on it. I talked to the Commissionaire and she also said that she does not know how to get a Police Certificate like that and to come back tomorrow to talk to the Commissionaire manager. I am going back tomorrow but I need help! Does anyone have any idea how I can help them help me to get the correct Police Certificate from the RCMP/Commissionaire's? I don't know what more I can do tomorrow other than bring in the exact information that the US government provides asking for a "Certified Criminal Record Check – For Personal Use – subtype Other and ask for a search of the RCMP National Repository Entire Holdings." that is "is fingerprint-based, but the report does not include an image of the applicant or the applicant’s fingerprints". This is exactly what I did last time and today.
  6. Hello, I just received mine and it has my fingerprints and photo... I believe it is incorrect. The commissionaire who did it and the admin at the RCMP both had no idea what I was looking for. I printed the police certificate info from https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Canada.html and brought it with me to assist them but I am worried this is the wrong form.... Help! Do I need to go back and get another one? Can anyone advise what went wrong with mine and how I can communicate with them to ensure I receive the correct one?
  7. Hello, I am sorry if this already exists. If so, please direct me to the existing thread! My I-129 F was approved on May 8, 2023. We are now waiting to receive our next steps in the mail. My K1 interview will be in Montreal Canada. I am wondering what the approx. timeline from I-129F approval to K1 visa interview is for Montreal Canada. Has anyone booked their interview in 2023? How long was the wait between I-129F approval to K1 interview?
  8. JUST GOT APPROVED! I-129 F sent March 30, 2022 I-129 F received April 1, 2022 I-129 Approved May 8, 2023 Case Tracker App notified me of the change in case status 2 days later, May 10, 2023 so I think there was a delay between approval and them putting it into the system. I was in batch 68500. Still no email, just the updated case status.
