I believe you have a very long process ahead of you . My comment is that while your boyfriend is working through his divorce, you do all your research as to which visa you believe will work best for you, though most people will say a marriage visa. Do read the excellent advice given here as to the potential road blocks ahead for the two of you.

The trials and tribulations of USCIS notifications. I believe they are improving but in any case, it will most likely take at least 12 months for them to actually send you a note to go look at your case an a positive response will be there. Patience is the key but the wait will be worth the wait. Good luck.

Given that you have a joint lease, joint bank accounts and joint taxes, the cc are really not needed. I never sent them in, just the same as you, lease, accounts and taxes and all went fine.

Well, I did send pictures, about 10 but they had no explanations and I did not send any data from social media and both my K1 and CR 1 were approved without issue. I honestly do not think all that is needed.

I met my husband in October 2016, met in person in May 2017 and submitted my K1 on July 2017 and it was eventually approved. I do want to make mention that in the time the application was going through I visited more than 6 times. Maybe it was a tad too much, but it provided for strong ties.

It is far cheaper to just register your marriage in Indonesia and then move with a CR1 visa. The wait is about the same with the added benefit that the US Embassy in Indonesia does the interviews so fast, (due to so low immigration from there to the US.) Then once your spouse arrives in he US the green card and social arrive within a few weeks and she is set. The CR1 is far better than the K1.

Not sure where anyone would be giving advice on this as it is utter nonsense. My now husband, on his K1 visa exam tested positive for TB, was then given a six month treatment and because he could not do it in Jakarta at the assigned US Embassy Hospital, he had to wait ONE year after the six month treatment was finished to go back and do the medical again. Then when he went back to do the medical, because now he had scarring from the TB, they did the sputum test and had to wait 3 months before the results and had the medical results sent to the US Embassy. To make a long story short, two years later, while in the process of the CR1 visa, once again went to the medical and once again subjected to the sputum test and another 3 month delay for the results. It's one of those things, if you had it, you will get the sputum test and there is no getting around that. Good luck.

Once USCIS approves your I 130, then it will move to the Dept of State pretty quickly and the National Visa Center will be in touch with you as to the next steps you need to complete, one of them being filing the affidavit of support. My experience with the NVC process and eventually the scheduling of the interview at the Embassy was less than 4 months, however, it was for a different country, Indonesia, where I know the numbers are very low and thus the scheduling faster than other countries. When I did mine in March 2023, I sent one copy of my tax transcript that I go from the IRS website and the copy of my 2022 that I had filed with the IRS but they had not processed and had no issues.

Well, now that you know what is really going to happen, the last thing you want to do is getting stressed out by looking at the case frequently. If you added an email to the account then when they update they will email or text you that there is an update to go see. It's frustrating and time consuming but in the end it will all be ok. Good luck.

When my petition changed to actively being reviewed, it was approved two days later, but that was after being there one year! Hope it will be good news for you sooner.

For my fiance interview, I just sent my original divorce decree copy that I had, (via FedEx), and many months later I go another one from the country where I got divorced, so I still have an original from the county me.

Unfortunately, we had no choice and had to start with the K1 however, after getting married my husband had to leave the US before anything arrived, his parole, ead, after here 6 months, and we had to start all over again with a CR 1. The whole process took 18 months, the longer part was to wait for the approval of the application, that took one year. After that the whole process with the Embassy went really fast. It is also far cheaper than the K1 visa.

Cannot speak as to how long will the wait be for an interview in Manila, however, the CR 1 visa would be the best and the cheapest, (given that all USCIS prices are going up and up.) So go to the Philippines and enjoy a trip there and get married and once you arrive back in the US start your marriage visa process.

The most important date is the expiry date on your K1 Visa, as long as you enter before that expiration date is all good.
