  1. ^^ Follow up: We received the official letters in the mail the same day I posted this! One of the letters included an online access code too.
  2. Filed AOS on January 19 with USPS to Chicago P.O. Box. On January 26, we received three text confirmations from USCIS that our case was received (submitted I-485 and I-864 along with I-765 and I-131). The check was cashed the same day. Checked the case status on USCIS tracker and they have scheduled a biometrics appointment. Have not yet received any letters / physical copies of the appointment notice. It states to request a copy of the notice through their website if we have not received it by February 28.
  3. Hi all, I am filling out the I-864 (for adjustment of status of K1) as a sponsor. I am recently self-employed / working as an independent contractor and I get paid weekly. This income puts me well above the poverty guidelines. I have proof of paystubs, a signed contract, and a letter from my client stating our current business engagement. However, my most recent tax transcript (2022) that I will be including in the i-864 packet does not include any Schedule C income (only W2 income). Despite my current self-employed income exceeding the poverty guidelines, should I still include proof of assets to further back up that I have sufficient income/assets to sponsor my husband? I only ask because I worry I will be more scrutinized using my self-employed income. Looking for help. Thank you.
  4. Thanks for your reply and insight on the London embassy. Are you suggesting I complete the "Beneficiary's Assets" part on the I-134?
  5. Hello, Advice is greatly appreciated as I fill out the I-134 form (as the petitioner) for the K1 visa. I was laid off recently from my employer. Since being laid off, I have transitioned to freelance self-employment until I can land my next full-time role. In terms of evidence of financial support for my fiancé, this is what I have: My 2022 tax transcript, which meets (and surpasses) the federal poverty guideline for my household size (2). The 2023 income I've made thus far from my ex-employer also meets the poverty guidelines for this year, and I can provide those previous paystubs. My questions are: Are the tax transcripts coupled with the last 6 months of paystubs sufficient on their own? Even though I exceed the poverty guideline for my household size, should I still disclose proof of assets with a statement from my bank? I'm worried my evidence may be up for more scrutiny as a recent self-employed freelancer. Lastly, as a self-employed freelancer, should I provide more current evidence of financials, such as a recently paid invoice from a client? Am I overthinking this? I would greatly appreciate advice from experienced individuals. I want to make sure I am providing sufficient evidence of financial support for when my fiancé has his interview. Thank you folks.
