  1. Yeah, we'll be patient. Actually was only expecting EAD for my wife initially. But all at once there were I797 AoS approval letters for both, Social Security cards for both, and the actual card for her, all in one day's mail delivery. All after months and months of no updates at all. So I was a little surprised that his card didn't come through right away too. Kept expecting it in the next day's mail. Then the next, or the next. Eventually got to wondering if I was just confused about the process. Guess not. She is so anxious to travel to see her older daughter who aged out of a K2 and had to stay behind. Only thing holding her back is lack of stepson's card. I keep reminding her that stepson needs to stay in school and cannot travel for a 3-4 week vacation now. Sigh.
  2. Thought so. Thanks. It's been more than a week since we got his I797. Still no card. Guess we have to call and wade through the prompts.
  3. My wife's AoS from K1 to conditional permanent resident was approved. On the same day we got her letter and physical green card we got the approval letter for her 11yo K2 son that his AoS was approved. But no card for him. They would like to travel back to Colombia to visit family. Does he get a separate card? Does he just travel on his Colombian passport and his I797 AoS approval letter along with his mother?
  4. I found inexpensive certified translators from Pakistan on Fiverr.com. Was like $5 per page. Multiple language options. Was 2 day turn around. Even though I could have done it, at that price it was easier to have someone else handle it.
  5. Can confirm that bringing cats is easier than dogs. The US does not have federal requirements for cats. Check with your state to be sure. Florida and South Carolina didn't. We still got ours current on shots and a veterinarian certificate of health. My wife then brought her cat in the cabin as hand luggage. Not all airlines are willing to transport pets from certain countries so check to be sure. Also may be a limit of only one cabin pet per passenger (or one pet carrier - if small, two cats might can share one carrier). Might have to check with airline's cargo operations otherwise if cannot bring both in the cabin.
