  1. In that case I would just move to the US and wait it out for the EAD. You don't know how much longer process times will become.
  2. Every couple has to decide their priorities; ours was to be together. We had enough money saved that I could afford to wait 6+ months without work. Obviously everyone's situation is different. I was, however, able to get a job offer once I had my biometrics and got my EAD very quickly after that. You may have similar success. If you don't want to wait to work, go with the consular processing, but know that this will add at possibly 2+ years to the wait time for you guys to be together. If you're prepared to this, this could be the best option.
  3. I would like at what the current processing times are (although these could change), but if you're willing to wait a little longer, I would go down the CR-1 route, as you'll have an easier process once you arrive in the US. However, if you were like me and didn't want to wait to be apart from your better half, even with the added expense and waiting time upon arrival in the US, then the K-1 is worth looking into. Both are difficult processes that will take time but be incredibly rewarding once you are on the other side.
  4. Just had out interview for our AOS from our K-1 visa and it was fine bit a little odd. I was called into the officer's room while my wife was asked to remain in the waiting area. We then went over the i-485 and he just asked to confirm what I had written was still accurate. Only update that was made was to my employment status, as I am now employed through the EAD. He then asked "Do you have any documentation for me?" I provided all USCIS stuff, birth certificates, supporting documentation of our relationship. After that he said "everything looks like it should be good, but I'll need to review everything before we can make a final decision. I can't guarantee you'll be approved, but it looks fine." I asked if needed any info from my wife and he said "no, you did the K-1 so we know that you have a real relationship, so there's no real need to ask her. This is more of a formality." So I asked again, when we should expect to receive notice. He said "I'll try and get to it today, but if not early next week." We left the office, and about 2 hours after the interview, we go an update on USCIS saying Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed. Has anybody had a similar experience?
  5. Hey! Have you heard back from Nashville FO regarding the interview? I'm also in Nashville with an April PD, and still waiting on "Interview ready to be scheduled".

      Awesome, congrats!

  6. That's what I did and it worked! I said i was just waiting for my card
  7. Hi all, I received my EAD card with Advanced Parole in September, and my wife and I are planning on flying back to the see my family in the UK for Christmas. I just wanted to know if anyone had travelled on Advanced Parole, how was the experience for you? I'm not nervous or concerned, more just curious if I need to do anything before traveling or if I need to bring any paperwork with me before I travel out of and into the US? Thanks!
  8. Looking at the current travel restrictions and guidelines, my reading of it is that because she's a Permanent Resident now, she will not be required to be vaccinated to return to the US. I'm not sure what restrictions in Austria are like so it may be worth checking there.
  9. Sounds like it depends on the IO you get. Maybe your friend got one in a bad mood. It sounds like he has a pretty strong chance with the appeal, so I'd still not worry too much about it.
  10. That's fairly amazing he got a denial. When was his interview? I've heard of several people in a similar situation where it had absolutely no problem for them. My GC interview probably isn't for a while but I'll definitely let you know.
  11. Honestly it was like three years ago so I don't exactly remember, but that sounds about right (let's say between $50 and $100). That ticket won't go on your permanent record though, so I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, I've heard the officers don't really care about things like tickets, it's more serious crimes or arrests that they look down on.
  12. On my application I stated that this had happened, but my interview has been scheduled so I'm guessing so far it hasn't been a barrier? Also EAD and AP both got approved without difficulty, so I guess they are potentially more interested in serious crimes? I'm not sure why you got a fine but we got one because we were trying to catch a train and were running late, which I don't feel is a very serious crime.
