  1. Did you not get a 10y green card when you arrived? Can you file I-90 to replace your card (see end of page 7, top of page 8)?
  2. Thought I'd share this in case others are similarly looking for an answer about renewing a driver's license in North Carolina after receiving a conditional green card. We were expecting the renewed license to expire on the same date as the conditional green card, but the DMV officer indicated it would be a full, 8-year license (and charged the full $44 for a full term license). While digging around for an explanation, I stumbled across this article. It looks like NC DOT changed its policy ~2 months ago. Glad we didn't renew the license a couple months ago!
  3. I may be late to the party, but I assume your fiance/fiancée tried Yamato? That's who we used.
  4. It won't take 2 years to get work authorization. It took 8 months for us in 2021. When you file your i-485, you should also file the i-765 (EAD) and i-131 (AP). The EAD is your employment authorization while AOS is processing. USCIS shows current processing times for that document as 8.5 months where EAD is based on a pending AOS application. It may have sped up recently. Our i-485 was approved in 16 months. Plenty of people adjusting from k-1 go faster, some go slower. But I wouldn't expect 2 years to get work authorization. That should come a lot sooner if you file the i-765 (which is free when based on the i-485 application, so plan to file for it).
  5. That question would likely be better suited in a ROC forum, not an AOS from K1 thread. But if you're asking about our AOS case's updates, our status was basically "Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for an Interview" within a day or two of biometrics taken. No notification of anything. Then the "New Card is Being Produced" status showed up about a year later and then "Case Was Approved" the next day (at which point an approval notice was mailed).
  6. Yeah, the lack of movement on people’s Raleigh timelines was concerning. Our bios were mid August. Very happy to be done with this step. I would like to think you and others in our area will follow soon after.
  7. New card being produced. No interview. Had been ready to schedule interview since last August.
