Newbie here! July filers and other questions...

Hi Guys!

Joined this very helpful site a couple of weeks back and i became an addict instantly with all the info you can get here! :D Anyways, just would like to ask if there are people here who filed a K-3 Visa Petition (we got married in the Philippines just this May 2007) just this July? My wife filed our I-130 last July 11, 2007 (Pacific Standard Time) at CSC and based on from what i read here, it will take at least an average of 10 days before we get our NOA1 (although it seems like an eternity hehehe!). Is this true? It seems processing is much slower this month...

Another thing, does CSC work on Saturdays and Sundays? Does it mean that i should not include weekends in my total count of days upon my filing of our I-130?

Can also someone share their timelines too (CSC/Manila, Philippines)?

Lastly, how long does it usually take for us to get our K-3 Visa?

Thanks and hoping for your replies!

Mari and Mitch

Hi My wife and I married in Manila in June

Hi Jimmy and Angela,

Yeah, eternity seems to be the right word if you're waiting for replies from the Service Centers :D. Anyways, im crossing my fingers that we get our NOA1 before the week ends or before the month ends. As you know, come August the fees will increase - we'd like to be able to file our I-129F before the deadline so we can pay the old fee.

I took a peek at your timeline and i did not see you fill up the timeline for your I-129F...have you submitted your I-129F since you got your NOA1 already? Will you push thru with your K-3 Visa or just wait for your IR-1/CR-1? Here's a bit of advice though - IR-1/CR-1 is cheaper but it will take you longer to get your visa. Advantage of this is you already get your green card upon entry to the US. K-3 visa will enable you to enter US earlier but upon entry, you'll have to file AOS which is about 1010 USD come august...

Got the advice from one of our VJ's here...

Hope this helps and thanks for your post!

Hi Booboo,

Sorry but i am quite confused with your statement - you mean to say you received I-130 or did you submit it on the date you specified? Also, I-797c's is the same as Notice of Action (NOA)...if you haven't received one yet then you'll have to wait for it to be sent to you by the Service Center where you file your I-130. You will need to attach this to your I-129F form.

For more info on this, i suggest you visit this link:

K3 Guide

As for the fees, there will be fee increase come August. I suggest you visit this as well:

I was going to file the 129F and called and asked about it. From what i am getting told is that it is not even a for sure faster way to bring her here, just more expensive. I have not yet been told a good reason to file it. I dunno. I am as confused as anyone by this process.

Yes you can file the I-129F provided you have your receipt number. You will need to make a copy from the online status report on USCIS and make a copy of your cancelled check. Then you must write in your cover letter that you have not recieved your NOA1 or I-797c yet and add a list of what you are including for proof that your I-130 was accepted (ie copy of online status and copy of cancelled check).

The fee is $170 until july 31. The fee after that is not known for sure, but I bet you will still need to pay the $170.

Not much in life is for sure. The K3 or I-129F route is generally 3 months faster than IR1/CR1 used with Jame's shortcut. It takes longer to get the AR1/CR1 through NVC than the K3 and also takes longer at most US Embassys.

The processing times link above will let you see the average differences in time.

thank you for your answer

the cic reseived my case in 6/11/07

but i still did't get the i-797c even there is many cases reseived by cic in jully and they already get it .

that what i can't understand .

about the fee:

i already payed 190$ for the i-130 and soon i will file the i-129f thats mean after 30 july so how much i have to pay then for the i-129f.

do i have to pay 355$ or 170$ as the old fee.or no fee for i129f

this is the only thing confusing me .

plz i need to make sure about that .
