Montreal Appointment Date

I don't know if this information is relevent to anyone, but I have received an appointment in Montreal for December 14th. Our visa petition is being handled by a lawyer and we were asking for it to be expedited as I have a daughter who turns 21 early in the new year, and we need to have the AOS done before March.

The lawyer was told that Montreal is swamped right now and they will be assigning appointments for those who's petitions were received when my was, which was end of September for January.

Like I say, this is second hand information, for all I know they told her that to make her feel like they were extremely accomodating of our request, or we've been penalized for having a lawyer call everyday to request an earlier date and all of you waiting will get November dates

I'm just glad to have a date...now all the fun begins, I am gearing up for expediting the AOS which looks like it may be a bit of a nightmare.

omg...this is nuts....i was so hoping for sometime in november. i have a son that turns 21 in april. just thinking that we will probably have to wait until january s$%ks....but i am happy for you.....good luck

Though I know I'm a recent approval, I was really hoping for November, even early December too. Aaarrrggghhh!!!!

Ugggh I sincerely hope that this is not true, if we don't get an interview until January the whole K1 process will have taken us over 10 months! I've been consistently told(yesterday even) the past few months that the wait for an interview is 6-8 weeks from when they receive the checklist. I'm just going to have to hold on to that hope, because the idea of January is just...too much.

Leafgal, let's not jump to conclusions based on this bit of information. You and I may have Package 4s in the works. We're begining of September, not end.

And as much I hate to say this you should definately get your appointment before me since you have waited longer.

There are always temporary solutions. Don't give yourself grey hairs yet! I suspect we'll get a 6-week notice before the date. Right?

I hope so cause I am not going to have my medical until the first week of November, and they said they could fit me in quicker if need be (I should be so lucky that they would need to)

I hesitated to post, because I did not want to cause anyone grief, like I said, this is just what I was told and thought I might pass it along. It certainly doesn't seem very expedient to me! I hope some of you start getting appointments and a more accurate time frame will emerge.

Have you attempted to have your petition expedited? Are you doing it yourself? I sincerley hope you do not have to wait until January...

I still haven't heard anything yet. I'm wondering when they are going to schedule those from August. My checklist was rec'd in Montreal on August 15.

This is all so frustating. I just want to know when the interview will be. If I have to wait to have the interview, I wait...but not knowing is the hardest
