Well, as you all know, I'm outside the 60 day RFE processing times.

As suggested by USCIS, I sent an Expedite Request in today via fax and snail mail.

I have also begun to contact my elected officials:

Robert E. Ehrlich- Governor

Roscoe G. Bartlett- Congressman

Barbara A. Mikulski- US Senator

Paul S. Sarbanes- US Senator

Ehrlich's office told me to write a letter requesting an inquire be done on my behalf. They then will ask VSC to send me some type of update.

Bartletts office is already on the ball. They took my information and already sent an e-mail to VSC. The very nice lady handling my case at his office said they have there own response team in VSC, whatever that means. I just need to send over the Privacy Release form now, with a quick letter of explanation.

Mikulski's office needs me to fax a letter with all my information and explanation and they will do an inquire.

Sarbabes's office is already in motion, taking my information and sending an inquire to the VSC. She said they usually respond the same day.

Everyone seems really nice and willing to help.

My question is...

Since I already have 2 out of 4 on the move, should I wait to use the other 2? I could really flood the USCIS with inquires and get a good push for my case. The problem is, these elected officials wouldn't want to hear from me again for another 30 days or so. Maybe I should use 2 this week, wait two weeks and use the other 2. This way I have someone to look into things in the begging and end of each month. But really, how many more months can I be there for????

Maybe I should just open the flood gates and see what happends. What do you think?

I think you're good with the four that you have.

From what I've seen Service Centers seems to jump when elected officials say "jump". So, if the people you've contacted do what they say I'm willing to bet that you will have either an approval or solid information by the end of the week.

Good luck!! And way to be an activist!!

6/29 - NEW I-129 mailed to CSC

7/21 - NOA1 issued

9/21 - finally ... my first touch!!

9/21 - NOA2 issued

My thoughts are to follow your instincts and keep a couple of aces in your pockets. Not only will you have another 2 people to 'sick on em' next week or so, but how happy will these people be if they find out that you have asked all 4 of them to do the same exact job from the get go. Remember, if one of these people feel that they can swoop down and save the day (i.e. be a big hero) then they are more likely to push the envelope for you.

*ducks shyly*

I have to agree with devilette... it seems like a little bit of overkill. It seems like a lot more people have been waiting a lot longer. Eheh, in any case...

*inches away slowly*

Just my instincts (i.e., no experience), but I'd keep the other two in reserve. They're not going to do much now as it's not like having two more officials bug the VSC is going to yield double the information, and it seems as though your Congressman is on the ball.

It's hard to relax, but you're barely three months into the process! So have a glass of wine and chill. You've done all you can for the moment.

Andy

I don't blame you at all for being one bit anxious as you have filed through VSC and people who filed after you (like me... sorry) got approved first.

Have you thought of sending a case of wine over? This may help loosen em up a little.

I agree with Devilette. You've sent the fax - give them some time to respond. Technically they have 72 hours for an expedite request as posted on their website.

It's fine to ask a senator to make an official inquiry on your behalf. But I wouldn't have FOUR offices all doing exactly the same thing. After all, what's the point? If you have one senate contact who is helpful, that is enough to make an inquiry. Since you know your case is with an adjudicator and not lost somewhere or waiting for an RFE to be sent to you, the best thing to do now is try to be patient and wait for a response.

Mo

Mozplay,

you said it exactly. I am understanding of the IMBRA delay. I know lots of people had to wait a long time for there approvals. As I've posted before, I'm no longer a part of that delay, and neither is anyone else. We are back to normal processing times. My case is not normal!! I've seen tons of approvals for later filers from CSC and VSC. I'm still waiting. You can say what you want. But I know it's not normal for VSC to take this long, except for a few cases. Apparently that's me.

Sure, I could be reactive and wait another month or so, "ohh, this is normal, I'll just wait"

or I can be pro active and try to push the issue.

Andy,

You've done exactly what you needed to do this week to make a push forward on your case. Now take a deep breath and wait again. This time it is a wait for a response to what has happened to your case, not just a unended wait for approval. Follow up next monday if you need to.

Here is some major mojo your way to hear some positive news soon and to get you through the week.....:dance::dance:(L):dance::dance:

erfoud44.jpg

24 March 2009 I-751 received by USCIS

27 March 2009 Check Cashed

30 March 2009 NOA received

8 April 2009 Biometric notice arrived by mail

24 April 2009 Biometrics scheduled

26 April 2009 Touched

...once again waiting

1 September 2009 (just over 5 months) Approved and card production ordered.

No one's said to wait another month and do nothing, just that having four offices request the exact same information isn't likely to yield much beyond the same information, repeated four times.
