OMG! My wife in the Philippines is 10 weeks pregnant! ....I am sooooooo ecstatic! BUT! She is due mid April! How will this affect my K-3 process? What if she doesnt get approved for her visa prior to the baby being born? OMG what do I do? Is there any way to expedite so she can give birth here in the US!? :help:

PS.......She just mailed her G-325A, copy of marriage certificate and passport photos! It could still be 2-3 weeks before I can get the I-130 sent off!.....

Congrats!!!

I am in the same situation. My wife is 5 month pregnate. It can be done in 9 month you must hurry thought I sent my I-130 at the start of her 2nd month. I am now at the NVC and have contacted the Embassy in Guatemala where she is from and they told me they can make my interview faster so I can get her here in time. But in general if the pregnancy is not a troubled pregnacy than you have to wait. I was also told that if the baby is born outside the US it is a american citizen through your citizenship. you will simply have to wait 2-3 weeks for the babys passport. Good luck

Hey Jeremy....thanks for the reply,

What is NVC? Did you use any shortcuts? Did you contact the Guatemalan Embassy by phone or email or ? It's good to know about the baby automatically being a US citizen. Do you know where she would obtain the baby's passport? US Embassy?

Anyway, thanks!

After your I-130 is accepted it is sent to the national visa center "NVC". they will have you send many more forms to them. After the are done it goes to the country where your wife is. She will need to have a physical and need some more papers followed by a interview. If the baby is born there you go to the american embassy in the country and apply for the passport. I emailed the embassy in Guatemala. They were very good at getting back to me.

You can find email address of embassy at www.state.gov or you can search for embassy at google.

I told embassy in email that she is expecting. She will take evidence with her at interview.

There are many members here from philipines. They can give you more info about embassy.
