AOS interview in SLC today...

The short version:

I had my AOS interview in Salt Lake City (Utah) today (1 p.m. mountain time) and got approved. My hubby and I were in and out in 10 minutes. It was ridiculously easy, fast and painless

The longer version for those of you who might want more details:

My hubby and I got interviewed by an older gentleman called Redle and he was very nice and friendly. He asked my hubby when my birthday is and then moved on to the usual questions about whether I had ever been convicted of a crime etc. etc. He also asked to see all my ID cards including my passport (with the I-94 and the old K1 visa), my state ID, my EAD card and my SS card. After checking those out he asked me if I had any other cards such as a credit card or a library card for example so I showed him my debit card and my library card. After that he told me he was going to approve me and that I should get my green card in 7-10 days. Then he stamped my passport with the employment authorization stamp (he had to take the EAD card away). My hubby and I were very surprised as we had brought quite a lot of stuff with us. We e.g. had papers for jointly filed taxes and a joint savings account, copy of the lease for the apartment with both of our names on it, mail in both of our names, 2 albums of photos, both of our birth certificates, my hubby's paystubs for the past 3 months and print showing his bank account balance. The interviewer didn't want to see any of the evidence we had brought with us. Guess he thought my library card was more interesting? :P

Anyway, I'm glad the interview was so easy and over in about 10 minutes. Now I just have to wait for the green card to get here :star:
