Two Biometric Appointments?

We sent in my wife's I-751 on 4/26 and on 5/2 she got her biometrics appointment notice for 5/23. Today she got another biometrics appointment notice for 6/3. All the info is correct on both notices... there are no mistakes... she's just got two. Is the USCIS's own confusion going to make problems? I told her just to bring both notices to the first appointment and let them sort it out after taking her biometrics.

Anybody else have this?

Thanks,

i don't post here much but i came to the forums to ask the same thing today.

i received two biometrics appointments for dates one day apart (5/30 and 5/31 - saturday?). they arrived at my house about a week apart. i am wondering whether it would be better to send them both back and reschedule just to be safe. otherwise i will just go to the first one and hope that they do whatever it is they do to cancel the second one correctly but if they don't it could get nasty.

interested to hear if this has happened to other people..

I have read that sometimes they send a second appointment if the prints were not good enough from the first appointment. I assume in your case, its just s glitch - go to the first appointment and tell them about the second one also. Good Luck

We got two as well.....That was two years ago....glad to see they still haven't fixed the problem.

Go to the first appointment and take the letter from the 2nd with you just to show them they are still doing it. You only need to attend one.

I just received another biometrics appointment notice as well. My first one is scheduled for 5/27 and the other for 5/31.

I am going to go to the first one and take both notices. (And make sure they stamp it so I have proof that I went)

It's a little scary though.

I also received two biometric appointment letters, the first one for 5/22(today) and the second one I got this afternoon after I got back from my first biometrics and this one is dated for 6/4. The same thing happened to me 2 years ago, but still I called their customer service, and a very nice lady informed me that she got many calls today regarding the same. She asked me to check the code on the top right corner and if both the appointments show the same code I dont need to go for the second appointment as per her supervisors. She had to put me on hold multiple times to check with her supervisors, and finally advised me that it should be a computer glitch.

Hey, I am receiving two biometric appointments for the I-751 petition as well, received them about one week apart!

The first appointment is on 05/30/2008 at 2:00 PM and the second appointment is on 06/06/2008 at 1:00 PM.

Which appointment should I choose to go? Just to be safe I think I would make it to the first appointment.

The biometric processing center is about 50 miles - about 1 hours drive and I would hate to go there twice.

For those who are in the same situation and go to the first appointment and get the biometric done please let us know.

I was trying to call this number 1-800-375-5283 but I got no where - kept getting recorded message instructions to here and there.

Thank you!

There must be some widespread computer glitch going on! My husband also got a second bio appointment yesterday, but it was for the same date as his original appointment (May 31) - just at an earlier time.

From what I recall, some people have gone to to their bio appts early, or even slightly late, so I think the exact date might not be important as long as you get it done and it's in the system.

My wife had her biometric yesterday and when we came back we found another letter for 6/3. One thing that I made sure was that check to see if our case was touched right after the biometrics. We did have a touch on the case so I know this went right through their system.

I have asked my wife to show up anyway to the next appointment just to make sure. We also checked that all the information from both letters was the same so it may really be a computer glitch.

Anyway, I suggest that if you went to the bio and got another letter make sure to check that your case is touched the same day which means that the prints have been inputed into the system.

The system won't accept "bad" prints hence you are not allow to leave the place unless the prints are done properly.

Take care

I don't understand what you are trying to say. What do you mean "touched"? and what do you mean by this:

I got 2 bio NOAs for I-485. Went to both since they were a few months apart. But I think the first one was enough since clearance was made soon after the first fingerprinting (according to officer at interview). I remember the second NOA mentioned something that bio has to be repeated (it was not the same wording as in first bio NOA)

Thanks,

KZ

If you registered your case with USCIS you then can check to see if the case has been updated (touched). You can tell when the case has been accessed as the date changes every time they do this.

If you are trying to do your fingerprints, the machine will make you repeat them if it "thinks" that these are not clear enough. The officer doing the prints has to make sure the prints are accepted by the system and will repeat them as long as it takes until the system process them.

take care

Well, she went to her appointment today with both notices (both had the same application #). They took her biometrics, stapled the notices together, stamped today's and told her she was done. Looks like this is pretty common.

One thing she mentioned about the scanner they use for taking fingerprints... her fingers are pretty tiny and they really have to roll them as far as possible from one side to the other to get good prints.

Now we wait to see if we have an interview or if they just mail her card.
