But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Unfortunately I think this is going to get very ugly when it does begin. The question is not if but when. I hope it is swift and quick because we are all in trouble if it drags on long.

Is it legal to bet on wars? I'd wager a few grand on Israel.

Being naturally pessimistic ;) I think the world situation is actually quite dire right now. Huge oil prices, driven in part by competing economies in the far east. The US military is stretched to breaking point across two countries in the middle-east and now there is talk of knocking over Iran too.

At least the US doesn't have the resources for a unilateral invasion of Iran, judging by how closely they are cooperating with the UN, I also believe the american public don't have the desire for a further conflict that sees further US casualties. This administration has effectively castrated itself in that regard.

Any wider conflict in the middle-east would IMO run a significant risk of dragging the likes of China and Russia into the equation. With things the way they are, I can't see that ending well...

I agree with you there fish, nothing good is going to come of this at all.

I do however feel it is necessary to stop them, but unfortunately it will be at a great cost I am afraid.

Military action won't curtail the anti-semitic sentiments in the region. Ultimately a diplomatic solution will have to be found.

That would be quite ironic - the people who know first hand about racial persecution and genocide end up inflicting it on someone else.

A diplomatic solution would be good, but is there really the time to be able to get that done. Personally I don't think so, but I am just one person and I could be wrong.
