After I got my Invoice Identification Number from an operator by calling NVC at 1-603-334-0700, I immediately logged on Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center in order to pay my bill online. Here are the screenshots as a reference to clear up all the confusion since the online system just starts recently.

1. After I entered my NVC Case Number and IIV, I got an option to which bill to pay. (Note I already paid AOS bill using James's Shortcut)

IV_BILL_1.jpg

2. Now I can input my bank information after IIV has been authenticated.

IV_BILL_2.jpg

3. Agreed to have a direct withdrawal from my bank.

IV_BILL_3.jpg

4. Payment successfully submitted.

IV_BILL_4.jpg

5. After I hit "CONTINUE TO RECEIPT", I got this screen.

6. Here's the receipt again if I need to print it out.

Now go pay your bills online. Good luck y'all!

After I hit "CONTINUE TO RECEIPT" it came up with a screen "Database Error" and completely logged me out of the system. Logging back in it said NOT PAID so I tried again. Same thing happened. Now $800 has been deducted out of my account and none of it is entered as paying my IV bill. No in process, no receipt, no nothing. Now I have to try and get the NVC to refund money they think they couldn't possibly have taken because it came from a system they think isn't up and working yet. Freak accident? Maybe. But it could happen to you. Before urging everyone to go right away to pay their AOS fee and/or IV bill they should know there are risks involved. We still don't have a single confirmation that the NVC themselves has accepted anyone's payment. Those of you whose status online is PAID, please call the NVC and see if they really processed your payment and let us all know.

Coversheet for I-864 is different from the one you just printed out for DS-230. I generated my I-864 coversheet from this guide.

I haven't sent in my package yet though since I'm currently on an offshore rig. When I get back I'll send both I-864EZ and Package 3's DS-230 in.

You're right as there's an inherent risk for the first batch of online-payment users as bugs are still being sorted out. Important system like this one should have a beta phase first before releasing to the public. Anyway, I paid last night and it's listed as IN PROCESS. I just logged on this morning and it's listed as PAID (less than 24 hours).

In any case, I still highly recommend everybody from now on to use the online payment system. It's easy; it's quick; and it's environmentally friendly way to pay bills. Plus, you save money for not shipping overnight!

It could be in beta phase right now. It could also be not forwarding payments through to NVC's main system since it's only in testing stage. Have you called the NVC yet to see if they have registered your IV bill payment? I would definitely not trust the online system telling you you're paid on its own merit. You should verify with a live operator at the NVC that they have registered it.

I can see why everyone is so gung ho about the online payment system. Heck, I was too and as soon as I heard of one going through successfully, I got on the phone with the NVC at peak hours redialing until I got in queue for a live operator. I had to beg them to give me my IIN and I finally got it. I tried right away and bam, database error. Tried again, same thing. Now I've lost $800 for who knows how long. This is a payment system that the NVC tells you is not working yet. You can't even get to the page without accessing the link directly. If something messes up your recourses may be limited because the NVC is telling you straight out not to use it. You risk blowing $400 into the wind and risk having your case delayed beyond that of paying it the correct way. Once again, I have yet to hear a single person who has phoned the NVC, spoke to an operator and found out that their payment which was made and accepted online has been successfully entered into the NVC's system. I guess most people could care less about the risks since it seems everything I have been saying has been falling on deaf ears. All I have left to say is good luck and Godspeed.

So has anyone who paid online seen a faster flow in their case yet? meaning is this online payment thing generating your AOS forms faster than people who are paying by mail? Thats the real question. Does online payment generate subsequent forms faster?

Yes Marlita,

I haven't done it yet but apparently once your payment clears through the system you can print the cover sheets from the site. That would in effect cut out all the various transit times for mail

I just called NVC few minutes ago and talked to an operator to inquire the status of the IV bill I just paid. She looked on her screen and specifically mentioned that "$400 has been processed." When I told her I paid via online method she was really surprised. First one she spoke to today that uses this method. Anyway, she even asked me back, "so now it's working huh?" At least now I know the IV payment is showing up on the system even though the transaction is still not completely cleared yet on my bank. The total balance is already subtracted but the status is "Pending" with the description of "IV FILING FEE NVC IV FEE WEB" right at this moment. (It's normal like that when I pay my other bills online.)

My actual IV bill will probably takes weeks to get to my mailbox. Even if it arrives, I might not be at home to pick it up to pay. And even when I returned the bill and payment to St. Louis, it still takes days to process. At least for online payment, I can pay anywhere as long as I've internet access. Hopefully, NVC will soon make an official press announcement regarding the release of the online payment system.
