JEJE Una Pregunta???????

Just kidding...I of course have not recieved the packet 3 yet but the info more or less should be included. He will show all three at his interview. As far as getting them early, I believe that for some of the police certificates he will need to show the letter from packet 3 to get the one he needs and I know they expire but how long for each I am unsure....

Hopefully someone else will have more info :D

When I had my interview (like a million years ago), the US Embassy asked only for Certificado Penal y Policial (not Cert. JUDICIAL). I did go to Ave. Aramburu for the Cert. Policial (PIP) but I obtained my Cert. Penal at Ministerio Publico (in Ave. Abancay, 4 blocks from Poder Judicial). Maybe things change. I dont see a reason why they would ask for a Cert. Judicial, which includes crimal cases (that's what the cert. penal is for) and civil matters (why would they care about this?).

Anyway, good luck.

Life is beautiful

hola MKCT

This is a Peru specific question on the police certificates

For the "CERTIFICADO JUDICIAL DE ANTECEDENTES PENALES" my wife was asked if she wished to get the national version or one for other countries. We are assuming the "international" version or the one for other countries was the correct response. If others disagree and have gone thru the process please let us know.

Appreciate help!

does anyone know how long these documents are good for? i just got my NOA1 but i want to be ahead of schedule and get this done early. If, for example, I get these now and send them with the IV packet 6 months from now, will they still be honored?

does anyone know how long these documents are good for? i just got my NOA1 but i want to be ahead of schedule and get this done early. If, for example, I get these now and send them with the IV packet 6 months from now, will they still be honored?

It would probably be best to get it as close to the time of the interview as possible. Even if it is still valid you don't want to give the officer at the embassy any reason at all to question or deny it.

Hey NJ,

My wife and I were also going to get these after taking care of everything else, but I was planning on asking the consulate directly, as they have answered my questions pretty quick in the past. I am assuming they have some experience with these docs. I will let you know.

In any event, I am willing to bet that getting them at the NOA2 stage or thereabouts is probably pretty good.

I will post my consulate answer here when I get it...

Mark :)

Okay, here is the response from the consulate:

"The documents are good for a year but we do recommend to wait for the package with all the instructions. Sometimes the processing of approving an I-130 petition takes more time than expected."

Mark :)
