I had my interview today at 10am. I got there at 9:30, got called in by really nice lady little before 10am. I swore in and we went through my N-400 real quick. She also checked all supporting documents I already sent with application.

Got asked 6 questions, wrote down on a piece of paper short sentence (My car does not work) and read one (I have three children) and I was down. Walked out of the office at 10:07am.

Ceremony will be in 2-3 months......

Do you remember the questions?

They have preprinted paper with a name of applicant and 10 questions on it. My first six questions was:

1. Who was the main writer of the Declaration of Independence?

2. Name one benefit of being a citizen of the United States

3. How many stripes are there on our flag?

4. Who is the President of the United States toda?

5. Who becomes President if both the President and Vice President die?

6. Who was Martin Luther King Jr.?

And my timeline:

07/03/2007 - NSC cashed the check

07/13/2007 - Date on NOA

07/19/2007 - Got NOA in mail

07/23/2007 - Biometric appt. letter in mail

07/30/2007 - Biometric appointment

11/09/2007 - Interview letter in mail

01/10/2008 - Interview (I Made It!)

??/??/2008 - Oath Ceremony

Congrats on the successful interview.

I am waiting to get my interview date, and am very nervous about the test. I only had the right answer to 3 of your questions!!!!! I'm DOOMED!!!!!!

I hate tests!!! I guess I'll have to do a whole lot of studying before I go!!!!

Hope you hear about your oath ceremony soon!!!

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

You know what I did? I printed out flash cards and used them to learn all the answers. Ones I knew real good I put away and used others I didn't know over and over again......just take your time...go over questions once a day, it takes a little time and I'm sure you will know all the answers before your interview date :)

NATURALIZATION

28th july 2007 - N-400 mailed to VSC

(exactly on the 90th day mark...applications NOT returned although some scared me into thinking they could have!)

30th july 2007 - N-400 delivered to VSC

11th august 2007 - Delivery Confirmation receipt received

17th september 2007 - Money Order (FINALLY!) cashed

9th november 2007 - NOA! (notification period given 180 days)

21th november 2007 - Biometrics appointment letter

18th december 2007 - Biometrics appointment in Baltimore, MD completed

29th march 2008 - FINALLY received letter with interview date!

8th may 2008 H 8:40 AM - Interview in Baltimore-APPROVED!

8th may 2008 H 3:00 pm (yes same day, crazy!) Oath Ceremony in Baltimore

24th may 2008 - US Passport application mailed off

6th june 2008 - US Passport received in the mail!!!

Thanks guys....and Visa Journey forum was a big help since the begining of my immigration journey.....I'm glad its over :) ...but that doesn't mean I will leave VJ now...... :)
