Snow is definitely not normal here. Since I moved here in May 2004, we had one day of sleet/snow and it virtually closed the City. It was a Saturday so that helped. The storm system is actually moving in from the South with the Sleet and Snow starting South of us. It is a big storm system and already they are posting about flight delays and cancellations at the airport, and school closings tomorrow. Part of the highway and parking lots are already like skating rinks from the sleet. Drats- my husband now has to drive home from Atlanta in this stuff as well. I will be relieved when he makes it - although it will be a while. He normally doesn't get home until 7 so it may be later tonight with the bad weather. There is a Winter Storm warning in effect for the top half of the State - including where he is supposed to drive to tomorrow. Maybe, if it is too bad, they will postpone his meeting. The snow and sleet is beginning to stick now.

Phew, Joe just called. He is leaving work early and is on his way home. Plus, his meeting in West Point tomorrow has been rescheduled so he doesn't have to drive in the bad weather. If it is really bad here tomorrow he can 'telecommute' and work from home.

Okay, now I can relax and enjoy the snow. It really is pretty. I just filled the bird feeders again as well - those little critters are going crazy for the seed. Everything is covered now and white.

Joel just text msgd me...it's snowing here, well at least where he's working (Unicoi State Park, Helen GA) and so far nothing here and we live abt 25 minutes from the park. LOL, my students were absolutely nuts today, constantly wanting me to look at the weather report, looking out the window every five minutes. :) It's a big deal here when we get predictions of snow and stuff. :D

Hope you find something soon Em...maybe try substitute teaching at the local schools? Not sure how that works in CT, but down here in GA you take a 4 hr training class. That certifies you to sub at abt $55 a day. Not much, but it does help some. :)

Down here you don't need a BA...just the training. But with a BA down here the pay per day is a bit higher. Something to think about definately. :)

No school tomorrow...I know I have some very happy students! Our daughter can hardly sleep as it is, knowing there's 1 3/4" of snow on the back deck. I'm just glad for a day to sleep in a bit. :)
