Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

1 RepliesHello guys!
Does anybody from Indonesia in here?, or maybe some of you know how to ship lots of stuff from Indonesia to the USA? Which courier service is the cheapest? How long is it going to take? I will move to the USA around July, and I don't want to bring much stuff on the airplane.
Thank you for your kind attention

3 RepliesCase:
Me (husband): Egypt passport, permanent resident in Canada (where we all currently work and live), will apply for Canadian citizenship in 6 months.
Wife: US citizen (born in US but left with family at 2 years of age)
Son: 5 months old, Canadian citizen, born in Canada and not eligible for US citizenship automatic transfer according to USCIS rules.
Plan 1:
- Wait for my Canadian citizenship (in approx. 9 months) then I can find a software eng. job in US and go on TN visa.
- Son (on visitor or TD visa) and wife will follow.
- Wait 90 days and apply for AOS for me and our son.
- Wife will have established domicile in US and we can use my US income to apply. (In this case, we don t need a co-sponsor?)
Plan 2:
- Apply now from Canada
- Wife will have an issue establishing US proof of domicile (she only has a US passport and SSN).
- It will be hard for my wife to travel to US alone to establish domicile.
- Anything can be done from Canada to prove intent to establish domicile once me and our son get the green card?
Other questions:
- Since our son was not eligible for the automatic US citizenship transfer from his mom, can he get the US citizenship right after his green card is approved (form N600 ?)
A few questions about restarting the IR-1 process 10:52 pm yesterday

2 RepliesGreetings all,
I will soon be restarting the IR1 process for my wife. We have been married since 2012, as we married while I was living in Bogota, Colombia for four years. Due to some traumatic life circumstances we decided to put a pause on our relationship and I returned to the United States in 2016. That changed two years later after she ended up getting her tourist VISA in 2018 and has visted me three times and will return again this summer.
So the question being, should I wait to start the VISA process again until she visits on her tourist VISA this summer or should I just go ahead and start the porcess again now. Once again, we are legally married in Colombia and we got all the way up to the "waiting for the interview to happen" when we cancelled the process before, which of course I now regret, because I have to start all over again. The only reason I would delay starting the process until she visited is because I dont want any conflict with her existing toursit VISA and the IR-1 process. Thanks for any advice and help.

Vaccine waiver based on moral conviction 10:32 pm yesterday

2 RepliesHello,
My mom filled for AOS from turist visa. Sent the i485 in February, in April she received a rfe for medical( form 693) with a due date in July. She hasn t been vaccinated as an adult at all , based on her personal believes, although she only had 1 vaccine as a baby so now 74 years ago but none during the adulthood.
So now with her being already in the USA and form i485 in pending can we just submit the waiver so form i601 now or we have to wait for her case to get denied?
Thanks!
