Guys, those who might be interested in this topic. I am enclosing some of statistics that I had derived from observing the past few month interview volume conducted at the Mumbai Consulate. This is just an average, and it may not be perfect. Take a look at it.

In a given month,

CR-1 Category interviewed is at 25%

F-4 at 14%

F-3 at 4%

IR-1 at 4%

IR-2 at 2%

IR-5 at 42%

and remaining ones are K-1, F-1-F2A,SB,SD,etc...

Thank you for sharing details. Do you know the wait time or I would say estimated interview date after NVC closes the case.

As of now, you are looking about at about 2.5-3 months for most people. Of course, it can change over period of time and it depends on the amount of volume of applicants received by the Mumbai Consulate.

real long wait... did you see that non immigrants spouses and children would get the visa in a day and for USC its months. They should at least let spouse of USC come to US on any other visa's like years ago Clinton came out with diff category for USC spouse during his presidency.

Umm, you are ahead of me so will watch your timeline.

Thanks

My husband is waiting to get an interview appointment at Mumbai Consulate. Our case closed on 02/23/13. I hope we don't have to wait 2.5-3 months. I hope we as well as all others get an interview date much faster as we all have been waiting for this day in what seems like forever. Wish all of us luck! :)

Its frustrating process, it seems like this consulate would rather process non-immigrant families faster than USC families. So if they receive more IR1 apps, they would rather make us wait than reorganize other visa appts. However I am also thankful for reaching at this stage, especially the stories on this website has taught me patience is a virtue. Keeping my fingers crossed for April interview :)

Good luck on your journey and be patient.

So how long does it take to get the interview date after NVC closes your case? I know Johna1 already mention about 2.5 to 3 months, but you are real close so you must be watching the dates.

Hey Sangita,

When was your case completed at NVC, your timeline isnt updated. If your case was completed in January then you would have a high chance of getting an interview in April. anyway, I am praying to God that mine goes through and get a April interview as well. However, the statistics states that I wont get an April Interview. Oh well, one can wish!!!

Also, The Chennai does not process anymore immigration visa. This was such a Blow, I wish if they would revise their decision so that there would be more leverage on getting an interview earlier.
