DV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?

    Confused about steps after marriage
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!

Hey everyone, so I just received my K1 FTP letter from the NVC. It says:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fianc (e) s/spouse s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Islamabad, Pakistan. Please note that the transfer process can take several weeks. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will contact your fianc (e)/spouse when they are ready to process his or her petition.

    Next steps:

Go to our website http://nvc.state.gov/k1 to learn how to apply for a K visa and prepare for the visa interview.

I am just wondering if we should go ahead and file the DS-160 form. Or should I wait until further instructions from the Embassy itself? Feeling fairly lost here.

Hello everyone I want to thank you all in advance for any advice or feedback you may have. My husband is a US citizen who is petitioning for me, and I am one of those that does a lot of research and I was reading that Cuidad Juarez is very notorious for tattoos, I have three tattoos all which I got when I was 18! I m not sure if I should be worried, I linked a picture below of the tattoos, one is a sugar skull Frida Kahlo, as a young teenager I was really obsessed with her art work, and I have my grandfathers name his name is supposed to be the stem of the rose, and my very first tattoo was a friends birthday and the date that he passed away. Will these tattoos be a problem ?

im trying to link these pictures but it won t let me I will try in the comments

Selecting a different country for CR-1 Interview

Philippines is taking around 1 year from NOA2 approval to interview date.

Is it possible to select another country for the visa interview?

Is residency required in that country?

If not, I would select something close by SEA, easy to travel to.

If so, spouse may soon be working abroad, and could either select that country or we would relocate to Mexico while waiting approval.

What is the process and any issues/delays with doing this?

(Bonus is that we would avoid the troublesome TB test in Manila!)

Our status is filed for spousal visa last year and we are nearing NOA2 approval date (anticipated in the next couple of months).

    Hello:

My aunt applied for ger husband's adjustment of status and docs were sent to Chicago lockbox.

The file has been recieved and signed for in March 26th.

As of today no receipt from uscis no that the check has been cashed. Is this normal? Is anyone else experiencing this delay?

    Thank you

      Hello Leslie,

I was looking at your timeline and saw you sent in form I29F after filing the i130. It seems that everything went so quick for your process. Do you think sending in the i29F is worth it and might speed up the i130?
What steps can you suggest ?

      Thank you!

Hey Shawnk, I am in a similar situation as you with my timelines. Someone recommended the same process as you mentioned to get a dual working visa. Do you have more detail on what dual intent working visa entails? What do i need to prove to get one.

      Thanks!!

I797C Notice of Action Rejection Notice
I recieved a I-797C Notice of Action rejection Notice for not answering one question. I want to resubmit correcting it. My question is can I resend the 535 cashier check that was stamped by USCIS and sent back to me? And include a second cashier's check with it for the difference for the new filing fee? Is my 535 cashier check still good since no case was processed?
