Thanks for the article Steven.... but it won't fly for discussion:

1. no sexual indiscretions.

2. no mention of illegal immigrants.

3. no politiko scandaloso....

I do appreciate it though, gratzie!

Oh, give it time, Len. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

10....

9.....

Let me take a stab at this:

What the article fails to mention is that those smarty peers in other countries don't know jack shite about intelligent design.

It's just so typical that folks just focus on what Americas students aren't excelling in rather than point out where we're way ahead. :D

:pop:

i believe in intelligent design. just look at this perfect specimen!

jessica-alba-california.jpg

It's more commonly referred to as plastic surgery. :P

i don't see any plastic in there

There are good surgeons out there...

I am always sorry to say this but...

as the former spouse of a elementary ed teacher, brother of an elementary ed teacher, nephew of a high school teacher and son of an air force instructor and as someone who is presently an instructor for the military.....

The problem with our education is.......drumroll please...........parents.

Lack of discipline at home translates into no discipline at school results in no teaching time in the classroom which means that the parents do the teaching at home via homework and the teachers parent at school via discipline.

Did you get that?

Now on the other hand, I just got back from two weeks with my fiance and her daughter. I spent more time with her daughter sort of helping her with homework than I could imagine. And her mother doesn't cut her any slack on her work. I can guarantee you that she is not a discipline problem at school and because of that, she is actually learning at school.

If you are a parent, you need to bite your tongue and let the teachers teach. If you don't like it,homeschool. And good luck there.

You are now returned to your regulare programming.

I agree, my wife gets that sh!t everyday.. parents think their stupid kids deserve an A because 'they work too hard'.. well, you don't get A's by trying! you need to earn them.. or excuses like 'but she's a honor student, she should have straight A's'.. well, guess NOT!!..

the saddest part, is that.. when she was in the rural school, parents were more strict with the kids, and had more faith in the teacher, than in this nice suburbanite school, where soccer moms think their kids deserve A's just because, I thought kids in bigger cities would have a bigger desire to excel, just because there's better opportunities, I guess not.. that's sad, bunch of cocky bastards..
