Ok this is a little off topic, but i just had to ask - especially want to know for all the ones in the group whose SO are in the ME.

My SO is in Lebanon and we all know of the rough history of Lebanon. I want to know for everyone in the group if anyone has ever made a comment like this to you…… “” You know your on the watch list for the US now because you have been to a ME country so many times””

I have been told this by more than one person in the last few months….. Has anyone else ever had this reaction for dating / marrying someone from another country?

~ 04/20/09 - Transferred to CSC

~ 04/25/09 - Transfer notice received in the mail

~ 04/27/09 - Arrived at CSC

~ 05/09/09 - Employment Auth / Travel Document Approved

~ 05/12/09 - AP approved - without an interview

~ 05/23/09 - Welcome letter received

No but that's only because, for some reason, the media hasn't made a big deal of the non-trivial number of people of Indian origin who have been found with links to AQ. They pin it all on North Africa, ME, Iran, and Pakistan even though the reality is that the contagion is much more widespread than that.

Hi, Actually yes! While I was in the process of becoming a US citizen, the USCIS kept asking me to go back to interviews with them and they kept asking me questions about my husband nothing to do with me. In regards to what was happening in Lebanon at the time. And people would say that to me and that was why I kept having a long process to become a US citizen. But I finally did.. But I wouldn't put it pass the US gov. to make it hard for Us to get our loves ones here to be with us :( My process has been long! But in the long run I will be the happiest when my habebe is with me..Hopefully soon!

Yes! I've traveled all over MENA but in the last 2 years so many trips in and out of Tunisia - And I got it on both ends - When I arrived in Tunis and left the Tunis airport, the security guys there would ask me why I was coming in and going out so much - asked me where I was going to and I told them Jendouba (my husband's village) which happens to sit really close to Algeria and is a big problem area for Tunisia - And they would go What?? Jendouba? Why does an American girl want to go there? So stupid! And then when I come back into the US I get 1000 questions from customs in Philadelphia International - where were you? why were you there? why so many times? did anyone talk to you when you were there (#######? ) did anyone ask you to carry any information? How did you meet your boyfriend/fiance/husband? etc etc - and then people here, friends making comments to me- you know you're on the watch list right? going in and out of so many muslim countries... I'm like how about you mind your business? LOL I'm sure most of America is on "the watch list" and I haven't done anything wrong so let them watch, I don't care lol
