hi! i just wanna know if u are gonna send a flat rate box to the philippines containing a gift. Is the recipient need to pay tax in the port or post office where they need to pick it up? if so how much is the tax that need to pay ? I heard that it depends on the value?

pls.. someone share experience...

Please help.... thanks..

I sent a lap top USPS Global Express [value $700] and my wife only paid P30 on her end.

When we send the flat rate small boxes her sis doesn't pay anything when she gets them.

Aren't cheap to send from here tho!

Last was 4# max and cost $31.

I just sent a Christmas package to my fiancee in Thailand. They said 6 to 10 days. Last year I think it took 2 weeks. I sent her a card for Thanksgiving and it took 3 weeks. USPS is the best option as it is the cheapest and the recipient doesn't have to pay duty on the package like they would with UPS, FEDEX etc.

We just send the same size box the ones you get at your PO.

Took 10 days and cost $31.

Time to get there depends on which province it's going to.

If you send it via post office they will charge the recipient, i don't know how much because it depends on the size of the package and its value, and it takes forever to get there especially if you send it outside Metro Manila area and during this time. My husband sent me a Christmas gift before through Post Office, the USPS told him that it will take 2 weeks to get there, he mailed it last week of November hoping that i will get it before Christmas , and guess what? i got it end of January. Its just a little package about 12"x18" box and i paid PHP 140. From then on, he never send anything through the Post Office, theres nothing wrong with USPS, the problem is the Philippine Post Office. FedEx is the fastest, it only takes 3 days and no charge to the Recipient.

I paid Php 3000 each fedex box I received. USPS takes forever. I sent 2 cards for my dad and uncle's birthday (with some money tucked inside), they never received the cards.

Oh well, Fedex though expensive is the fastest and reliable for us.

My fiance sent me a package and when i received it i payed 2,507 pesos. I don't know why.Do we really have to pay that much just to get a small package?

did u really pay 2,507 pesos just because you received small package? why the others paid only like 140 peso?

You should look into sending a balikbayan box. We sent a box stuffed full of all sorts of things and it cost us $65 to deliver in Mindanao.
