The moderators will sometimes "split" a topic if you make a post that is not relevant to the original thread topic.

Yup, if someone posts a question within a thread we can split it from that topic so it doesn't take the original question off track. The name of the first poster in a split thread will then become the OP of that topic.

This reminds me... does anyone else think it would be a good idea to make it very clear (in the title?) that a topic has been split from another thread? Especially in some of the more, uh... heated exchanges that sometimes result in off-topic stuff being split from the original thread, the person who then becomes the 'new' OP might not always appreciate it, especially as anyone who hasn't been following closely would never realise the split had happened, and would just assume that the 'new' OP had specifically chosen to start a thread on... whatever. Which might not be a problem at all, but then... it might, and I can think of a few occasions where it has been in the recent past!

Is there a way to make it obvious when a thread's been split, d'ya think?

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png
