I'm aware of the site & what it says. Was at the DMV this morning, actually.

Hate to burst your bubble but I live in California & have been thru this as have many others.

No bubble to burst... just quoting the official DMV website and it does not indicate a 1 year requirement.

Thanks for your inputs....I had got my CA Driver's license in 2003 which expired in jan 2007 (I got it on the basis of my I94...no SS#) I got the renewal notice in Nov 2006 and was required to apply in person which was not possible. Hence I want to get it renewed....

As per DMV..the I94 needs to be valid for 60 days....

Normally how long does EAD take to happen??

EAD should be approved within 90 days in most of the cases.

try calling the dmv ca hotline and they will direct you to dmv sacramento thier legal department. it happened to me i just faxed my NOAs and i94 and they mailed me a 60 day extension. my i94 expired last july 16.

Removing conditions....

6/10/09 - sent I-751

6/17/09 - received NOA1 (dated 6/11/09)

6/22/09 - received NOA2 (biometrics date -7/10/09 *notice date : 6/18/09)

6/27/09 - received NOA3 (Appointment Cancelled *notice date : 6/18/09)

7/23/09 - Biometrics

10/23/09 - Card Production email

10/30/09 -Approval letter received

10/31/09 - CARD Received

Naturalization......

6/04/10 - sent N400
