Ok, let me explain why I started this topic.

Two of our family members (hubbies side) got arrested in 2005 for a crime that was commited 2004. They got charged with aggrevated sexual assault, the bond was $100000.

For the same crime, two other guys got arrested in 2004 already, just days after the crime was commited. They got off for $40000.

The DAs had DNA evidence as well as witnesses, a sure case for them, actually a really big case for them. So for 3 years, these two guys had to appear at numerous court appointments, one of them both almost lost his job, wife over this, not to mention his dignity. Still insisting on his innocense.

Then his lawyer filed for a motion to have the DNA tested in an independant lab, which was granted.

The DA refused to give the DNA out, arguing that he is not allowed to communicate with defense witnesses (the lab). So he kept the DNA. Now that the tria was scheduled for August, the judge got pretty mad about it and guess what happened? Both DAs quit!

Not on the case, they quit their jobs.

Come tofind out, there is no DNA. Seriously, there never was DNA from at least one of the two guys.

The victim had identified two men, the other two who got arrested and from those theyhave DNA, but not from our familymembers.

They were at the scene (a party)but had already left by the time everything happened.

I know this will probably rise some more questions, but I don't want to get too much into details, I hope, that is understandable, since it starts to be all over in the media already.

I am just so confused and angry of how this all developed. Most because for a while I really started to doubt what our familymembers were saying.

I mean, you are being told there is evidence, DNA, witnesses, they did it, they are guilty and I started thinking "OMG, and these guys are family now??"

and then...nothing of this is for real, it's been made up for 3 years? Why?

I feel terrible for not believing in them, really ashamed.

Law Enforcement (including DAs) will lie every time. Who is to be believed? A kid with some weed in his pocket or someone in uniform? I'm not saying either is innocent but the system is run by people that will always side on the side of the law.

I occasionally watch Cops. It's a great primer for what cops will do.... lie

Hate to bring it up, but I start to think that it has something to do with the victim being white and the four guys charged are african american!?

So easy to point your finger on people and accuse them, hoping they won't be able to figure it out and get proper legal advice and support.

There are just too many things in play that really make me think it has something to do with race..and usually I am someone who hates when play the race card.

I am frusterated.

The police do not around arbitrarily arresting people. It is only done by way of a warrant issued by the court after probable cause has been established. This requires sworn testimony and an affadavit.

Or requires a bill of true indictment issued by a Grand Jury upon hearing sworn testimony.

So based upon what you have posted, it makes no sense. Why was the warrant issued???
