Well Dan is tucked away in his hotel room for the night. Yet again, bless him, he got lost in London on the way to the hotel. I made SURE that he was good with getting to the Embassy in the morning. He mentioned that the hotel he's in is in a rather seedy area, but serves the purpose and it's supposedly "just around the corner from the Embassy." I'll be calling him to wake him up at 7:15 (1:15am for me, but I won't be sleeping anyway!) I doubt seriously he'll sleep much. It's just so remarkable that the culmination of 6 months leads up to about a 10 minute interview. Anyways - thanks again for all the well wishes - sending good vibes to psho as well. Will let you all know when I hear from him!

Thanks for all the good wishes and vibes!

I am happy to report:

SUCCESS!!!

Well, like Barry Bonds' lifetime stats, it's with an asterisk, as Mr. Psho-to-be still has his passport -- he explained to the interviewer that we were booked to Amsterdam on Monday, so the interviewer told him "I'm approving your visa, but here's this form -- call SMS when you're back, and they'll collect your passport, we'll insert the visa, and SMS will courier it back to you."

So we were delighted that we don't have to stress about our holiday in the Netherlands.

Oddly, they didn't collect DS 230 Part 2.

No "welcome to the United States" but he did get a "congratulations."

I did look around to see if I could recognize Dan, but I didn't. I hope his interview went well!

No celebrities either, but a herd of Virgin Atlantic flight attendants, though.

SO PLEASED THIS PART IS OVER!!!!

Well Congrats, psho!!

Dan's interview went well. He said they were all very friendly and no difficult questions. They only questioned one thing about my Affidavit of Support. Since I work in healthcare, I am paid hourly. On my employment letter from the company they didn't put a yearly salary as we aren't paid as salary. It said I was full time, but didn't give any sort of annual income. I would not have been difficult to read between the lines to figure it out (also had pay stubs included,) but we were glad that I'd stuck my last couple of years' tax returns in there so there was a nice little concise figure for yearly income for them.

He also mentioned that he befriended some guy in the waiting area that was also there for K1 interview. The poor guy was so nervous asking tons of questions. He and his fiancee had hired a lawyer to go through the process (for $4000!) Their lawyer had done nothing but check over the initial I129F packet, mail to USCIS, then upon NOA2 directed them to the embassy web page to do the rest!!! Dan told him about VJ and all of the fantastic information and personal experiences that we find on here. I think he was a bit sick for not having found something like this. Poor thing didn't know about the fee increase either - wasn't expecting the $1010 slap in the face AFTER the marriage.

Anyways - I'm sure he'll post a review whenever he gets home. I would have posted sooner, but after NO sleep I passed out when I got off the phone with him at 5:30 this morning for a bit of a nap! Thanks for all the well wishes - SO glad to have this part over with! Now it's just the daily wait for the visa and hopping on the next plane out of London!!
