Updated list....although I feel that their should be way more people on this list. I cant believe only this few tried to beat the the price hike cut off.
Lenka and Howard...great to see you on board on this thread . Hope to see more of the k1'ers from January as well. Try tracking the package with USPS. But go in person, because their online tracking sucks.

Of course I was gonna be on that list, i waited until the last minute to send everything :blush:

Money order question and please dont get on me for not sending checks, I know big mistake.
I purchased 2 money orders from USPS. One for AOS + Biometrics, the other for EAD. Is there a way to tell if the money orders have been cashed?

You could fill out PS Form 6401 at the post office and pay a small fee, but it could take 60 days to get your answer, so it's not practical for this. We did the same thing you did. We know everything was received in time, but we just have to wait it out for the NOA1, which apparently could take a little while.

IHere is an update of the August filers so far. I added the date it was received at Chicago so we can keep tabs on what date or who they are working on. So please let me know your received date if I left it blank. Hopefully I got everyone. Also let me know when your checks start getting cashed, if you don't mind, so we can expect the rest of ours to get cashed too.

I mailed in my husband's paperwork on july 27th next day, but haven't heard anything yet, the check hasn't even been deposited?!? at least we beat the deadline. Still no NOA, but I'm sure they are back logged.

On the other hand, my wife sent her I-485 package via USPS on April 29, 2004, the day before a fee increase, and it was rejected for wrong fee. The rejection notice stated that the fee increase went into effect April 30, and that if we felt an error was made then she could re-submit with evidence of the error.

So she (I, actually) resubmitted with:

- the original envelope showing the April 29 date on the postage label,

- the USPS Track and Confirm® printout showing that the package has been received by USPS on April 29.

Returned again and resubmitted again, this time including the USCIS fee increase notice with the part stating that the fee increase was in effect for submissions postmarked on or after April 30 highlighted.

Returned a 3rd time for wrong fee, at which time getting the green card became more important than the fee so we paid the new fee.

That was Nebraska. I saw postings that the same thing happened at Texas, to enough people that the AILA went after them because the USCIS error was making the attornies look bad to their clients.

Some people may be unfairly burned again this time around, hopefully not too many.

I sent a packet in durring 2005 just as the fee increase happened it was mailed by UPS the day before the increase and it was accepted at the old fee and we never had any problems....
If USCIS were only going to accept mail dated by the USPS then they would have had to notified the public of that rule.... UPS give you a receipt and a delivery conformation all dated...

You can add me to the growing list of filers. I sent mine in July 26 and it was received at the Chicago box on the 28th. Fingers crossed that I included everything I needed....lol. I am filing for myself and my 2 girls....so it was a big package!!!

I took the liberty of sorting the latest list I can see in this topic by order of receipt by USCIS, when known, and then alphabetically. Those who did not provide the date of receipt of their package by USCIS are listed below the ones who did, based on when they sent their package. If that makes sense.

It would be great if people could stick to that pattern (or another pattern -- I'm not pushing for mine at all!) so that the list isn't partially random!

Just added my name. Please bear in mind my case is different though. I had to send mine to Texas first to get out of removal proceedings. By the way does NOA1 recieved mean notice date ?
