GC expires in January 2023 and Driver’s license also expires at same date

My wife has a 2 year GC and will be sending my I-751 form sometime early next week. How will my wife be able to drive if her GC expired while waiting for the form to be processed? Do we get something in the mail like an extension? We live in the state of Georgia.

Yes she will get a 24 month extension letter. She can use it (with expired GC) to renew driver's license.

Nowadays usually in 1-6 weeks after filing
