Why doesn’t my I-797 have an A number?

Hi everyone, m

our i130s we’re approved two years ago and we have been DQ at nvc and are waiting for our interviews. 
 

Can someone tell me if some I-797s don’t have an A number anywhere at all on the paper? Not close by beneficiary name, or anywhere at all on there. 
 

I have yet to see an A number anywhere on any document

Once you receive your interview letter from Montreal. You will see the Alien number at the bottom of the email. If you have already recieved the email check the bottom. It starts with an A.

Neither of our NOA1 nor NOA2 I-797 had beneficiary's A number on them.  Not an issue at all for the visa process.  The first time we ever needed to know the A number was when we had to pay the immigrant fee.  By then, we just read the A number from the visa itself.

I never got an IL. I was expedited. Once MTL received our files our ceac said to schedule our interviews. So we did, on the visa ops website which then sent us a confirmation email which just included our MTL number. 
 

I just didn’t know if I needed the A number for the medical, but Dr Z said that the MTL case number is fine.
